What are most common pot sizes. 5 and 10 gallon batches

Post #1 made 14 years ago
I'm thinking about making up some biab bags and throwing them on ebay so they can be easily available to other brewers. I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on the most common pot sizes that are out there. I'm thinking of making them available in a couple different sizes but would like to figure out what would be best two or three sizes to make so each could fit more than one pot and hopefully cover a broad range of what is out there.

Thanks

I just bought a 15 gallon pot (57 Liter) pot that I am trying to find a bag for which is 15 1/4"(38.735cm) in diameter and 18 1/2" (47cm) deep. You should have posted this last week; I was just in Rockford, MI last weekend. I could of just picked it up from you.

Hi

I was thinking of asking the same thing as I've an idea for insulating pots and was wondering about variations in pot sizes.

Mines 45.5cm in diameter and 32cm deep

I grew up in GR but now live in Chicago. I would have you make one except I finally went to the local fabric store and bought the stuff to make the bag. I just have to drop it off at a seamstress to make it.

I also have a 15 gallon pot (17.3 inches in diameter and 16 inches tall). I purchased the fabric to make a bag. Now, I just have to convince my mother-in-law to sew it for me!

From my reading, a double batch in a 15 gal pot would be a stretch. I will probably only do 6 gal batches (at least until I am comfortable with my Bayou Classic Burner and the the pot).

15 Galons is about 57L

You will have no problems doing a double batch with Maxi BIAB, but it would be a good idea to start with a single batch
