Meas efficiency when scaling a recipe on BeerSmith2

Post #1 made 9 years ago
Please see attached photos. I believe everything has scaled correctly as it should with my equipment compared to the original recipe, However the meas efficiency bottom right has gone from 70.7% to 101.7%. Why is this? My efficiency is only set for 70% in the equipment setup so don't understand why this has changed so much?

Hi Joe and welcome to the forum  :salute:,

One of the big problems when you start brewing is software and terminology. It's such a confusing area we ended up building the BIABacus and creating Clear Brewing Terminology.

Prior to the above, we put a lot of work into BeerSmith2 as you can see in this Beersmith2 guide. BS2, like all other brewing software, is what I call 'static' - the user has to guess at very important variables whereas the BIABacus does this for you. It may look scary when you first open the BIABacusas everything is on one page however, it is easy to learn and use, very fast and far more powerful than alternatives.

Take a bit of time to read through the links above and you'll end up saving yourself a heap of time!

Of course, if you have any questions on the above, someone will always help you out.

Cheers,
PP
