hop sock beer thief!

Post #1 made 11 years ago
Quick question guys. I've brewed a couple of beers now in my 19L stockpot. With post boil dilution Ive managed to get about 20L so far.

My last brew required 3 hop additions (one bittering and two different hops toward the end) In total I used 3 hopsocks. By the time I removed them before I chilled my wort I was almost crying at the amount of wort those socks can actually hold and therefore steal from me :nup: :nup: :nup: .... I didn't want to squeeze as im not sure if its the done thing

So does anybody do this any differently? Could I just add each hop addition to the previous and use just one hopsock? Even if using different hops?(I have only used flowers so far). I have thought about not bothering at all as I always filter my post boiled wort through some sanitised swiss voile anyway.

Thanks for reading

I've just used separate hopsocks. I don't think there would be an issue using just one.
I'm considering buying one of these for my hops.

Some people are like slinkies. Not good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
