Hello Everyone,
My name is Mark and I live just south of Memphis, TN in North Mississippi. I have been brewing extract kits for about a year and am going to change to BIAB very soon. I found this site by search for BIAB. I look forward reading a lot of post here for tip and tricks to be efficient when changing over. I hope you all have a great day!

Hi
Andy for Florida here.
I've brewed a half dozen or so extracts and partial mashes. I recently found a cheap keg on craigslist and converted it to a keggle, so this seems like a perfect time to move to all grain with BIAB.
I use beersmith 2.0 for brewing and tracking measurements.
Thanks for the great site - looking forward to doing some reading in BIAB.

Hey Andy and welcome to the forum. All the info to get started and be proficient with biab is here on this site, along with many experienced BIABers to help. Many around here use the BIABacus, but every brewer should do what works best for them. If your game, give it a try anyhow. Happy Brewing!!

Hi everyone, I just listened to the BIABrewer podcast on beersmith were i learned of this site. I'm from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
I've brewing for about 10 years, started from extract kits then slowly have evolved to traditional all grain brewing. Have been concentrating on Hybrid styles like Kolsch and California Common as they suit the climate here. My next brew day will be a BIAB (I think most of my future brews will be) with no-chill as it makes more sense to me to do it this way; less time, less equipment to manage and clean and I can ferment when there is space in my fridge and pitch when my starter is ready(no-chill).
Thanks for a great site!

Hello everyone from cold and snowy Calgary, Canada. Really awesome site you have here, it helped me tons with my first BIAB last weekend. Did a 19 litre batch of APA and went fairly smooth. Only real challenge was brewing in the garage and keeping a decent mash temp. Looking forward to using the biabacus for my next brew in a week.
Cheers

Hey stoby1, greetings to you in Calgary from here in snowy North Ontario! Should be easier to keep your mash temps in the garage than for me out in the woodshed hah, try wrapping the kettle in an old sleeping bag during mash. Glad you are liking the BIABacus, happy brewing!

Hi,
I was just about ready to give up on homebrew after brewing from kits for the last year or so and not being happy with the results ( always had a homebrew twang).
I then stumbled across the biab method and have decided to give it a go.
I have just ordered a 40 litre buffalo boiler and various other bits of kit and I'm now looking for my first recipe.
So fingers crossed.

Greetings from Castle Skink, oh goodly Brewstar! You won't regret venturing to the Dark Side - the difference between all grain and kits is just huge. As regards recipes, there are plenty in the recipe section, or you can do what I did, and what I would advise anyone to do; get Brewing Classic Styles by Jamil Zanaisheff, and search how to convert his recipes. Maybe someone can provide the link? His book gives recipes for all 80 of the categories recognised by brewing competitions, and is a great starting point. I brewed his ESB, and it was bloody luvverly! Must get brewing again....

Hello,
I am a relatively new homebrewer in Northern California, USA. Came across the site from numerous hombrew forums. I am working out a brown ale recipe. I have brewed some extract brews and have been overall pretty pleased with the results but think they could be better and all-grain is clearly the way to go. I have read pretty much everything I can on the site, but would like to be able to get some feedback on my recipe.
Thanks in advance!

If you want some feedback you can post your recipe in this thread: http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php ... start=2050 and one of the experts will usually have a look fairly promptly. Hey frankly1962, welcome to the forum! Once you start biab you will wonder why you didn't make the switch earlier! Great beer to be made and all the info you need to do it is right here. Hello from Fairbanks, Alaska. I live in the beautiful Interior of Alaska and I am blessed to have a job flying an air ambulance throughout the state.
I just started home brewing. So far I have brewed 1 kit and 1 extract beer. I would like to get into AG brewing but it looks to complicated. BIAB looks like the way to go. My next step will probably be a partial grain and then when I get a bigger kettle I'll go AG. For right now I am using my 6 gallon turkey deep fryer.

Hello all,
just stumbled across this site a few days ago. I live in Tulsa Oklahoma. I have my first home brew in the secondary fermenter now. My neighbor teaching me to brew is very old school (and freely admits it) and started me on the partial mash technique. But while racking to the secondary this past weekend he suggested that due to my time and money constraints, having 3 teenagers all in different competitive sports, that I might want to look into BIAB. So after stumbling onto this site I have been reading though the beginner's questions and am impressed with the amount of information given and respect shown throughout the board. I look forward to learning and hope one day I can contribute to this conglomeration of knowledge.

Hello root1865 and welcome aboard! Nice to have someone to help you get started for sure. BIAB is great for time and money constraints, but apart from that it is just a great way to brew high quality all-grain beer, equally as good as any other method (or better). There is definitely a huge amount of info here and many experienced biabers willing to lend a hand if you can't find something. Keep reading and keep brewing!

Welcome aboard
Thank your neighbour for me. It is not common for someone who knows how to do "it" to advise that there might be another way of doing "it".
In some ways this site is in a constant state of experimentation with everbody ,noobie and old hands, talking and as importantly, listening.
obsession18
If you try to read everything on this site you will never brew. (But read a bit
)
My advice is brew and then have a read while trying to work out how to improve on that beer.

Hello Fellow Brewers,
I'm excited that I have stumbled across this site. I am currently living in California's central valley. So, far this site has a ton of great information that I can use and hopefully one day contribute to. I have brewed three extract batches before and am excited for BIAB. I am gainfully employed with the United States Navy and find brewing to be a relaxing and rewarding hobby.
