Finally got off my arse to tinker with an idea I'd been tossing around in my head for a while now. I needed a way to keep a keg cold for my wife's work conferences. Being the cheap SOB, I mean thrifty recycler, that I am I wanted to go the route of re-purposing stuff that might otherwise end up at the landfill. A year or so ago I noticed a phone company utilities container that had washed down the creek behind my office after a flood. It was lodged up in the woods and the bottom was broken off. These are the things you see all along the side of the road that cover phone connection access points above ground, at least I think they are. Didn't think much about it but being the re-purposer I filed it away in the back of my brain. When I started brewing again the wife wanted to take full advantage of my blood, sweat and tears to up her social standing in the regional work conference hospitality club. My first thought was to go with the large rolling cooler and stick the keg inside and pop a tower or tap into it. But that was WAY to easy. I needed to do something more complicated to release my inner tinker-er. If only I had something round and large enough to hold a keg,,,,,,,,hmmmmmmm.
