I just put my three and a half year old to bed. I couldn’t find my glasses (been drinking my 12FRM beer) and he said don’t worry! I’ll read it, and he read the entire book from memory, word for word, it was a long book. I’m scared :argh:

When he had just turned 3 he marched into my office and said to all and sundry “Where’s that silly old doctor!” the waiting room was in stitches! I was scared then. :argh:

Kids these days :argh:

I might need help :argh:

If your kid doesn’t say much for the first year and a half of his life, and he’s very late walking, and he’s 5 weeks premature, with a 5lb 7 oz birth weight. Watch out! He want’s to get out of the womb and STUDY YOU. :argh:

He’s taller than any kid his age. :argh:

PP get off...I'm still editing this :P Funny comment though  wouldn't dream of it

And I love him!

There! finished

That is a cracker   .

I noticed you edited the first post here but before I think it said something about if you have any good brewing stories. Can't think of any off the top of my head but somewhere else you mentioned that your grandmother used to make beer. Wouldn't mind hearing that story GR.

Oh and save yourself some trouble - put that kid of yours on eBay .

PP, I’ve been drinking the 12FRm (it's fab!) so I might as well put my history on again. Why not! I’m not ashamed

My mother has known Jonathan Guinness, baron and heir to the Guinness fortune, for most of her life. My mother made beer when I was a kid. My parents had 5 gallon drums of liquid malt kicking around. They also put honey in it from my bees that I kept, hops from the garden, and she had a friend at the brewery who gave her yeast. My parents were poor bohemians, living in a cottage, down a muddy lane. We lived off the land, subsidized by my mother’s part time waitressing job. They had no fancy gear, no electricity, no car, no TV. My father read us books by the fire. They met lots of interesting and very famous people in Paris and London during their earlier life before they moved down the muddy lane, and I remember a steady stream of them coming to visit, mud up to their knees, and drinking the beer with much merriment. L Ron Hubbard was present at my sisters birth (the one that lives in the south of France), My other sister ended up marrying a rock star. At the wedding I was at the head table and all the Rock stars were at the small tables. I met a few of them including David Gilmour, and my sister seems to know them all…from small beginnings!

What’s your story PP? grappled with any crocodiles?

Everyone has a story to tell.

What’s your story?

Here you go PP, The cottage has been fixed up, with electricity and all, and is now a really expensive holiday let. It is made from stone to the level of the top of the bottom windows, and then it is cob above that (cob is a mixture of mud and horsehair) with a tin roof. Originally it would have been thatched and was built as a two family farm laborers cottage. Each family with one room upstairs and one room downstairs.

That’s the beach I used to sail out to Guinges Rock from, and the big white house where Prince Charles "played croquet in his helicopter".I even included a Picture of Mevagissey for Yeasty.

Does anyone have pictures of their neck of the woods.

Well, since you asked for it......

"Tuesday night Board Meeting". I'm not in the pic but this is my crew that gathers every Tuesday night throughout the summer to discuss important world events, tease the chipmunks using a fishing pole baited with a peanut, and drink my homebrew!

Interesting quick glimpse of your life Todd. That was great!

I’m hoping people might chip in from here and there around the world. With stories and pictures. Would be so inteesting :interesting:

People are more interesting than beer. Maybe got that wrong.

Oh got it! People are interesting when there is beer, and beer is interesting when there are people

The two were made for each other. :geek: :ugeek:

Not so much a story, but i like the idea of putting faces to the names (Cheers Todd) so here is a pic of me & SWMBO on our wedding day.

The story (I suppose) is it was in Cuba.

I spent lots of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I squandered
I've stopped drinking, but only when I'm asleep
I ONCE gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life

Yeah, good on you Mally, Todd and GR :salute:.

Was going to post a pic of me and Lylo's Granny from a few weeks ago but the mods described it as, "highly inappropriate." :smoke:

I'll try and dig something up in the next few days but seeing as we are showing off wives, here's Mrs PP in the middle of the Nullabor Plain. (A lot better looking than Mrs Mally eh?)

May I please request a mod note, or anyone, to explain how to post pictures as a "file attachement".

Also Note: If you post pictures as a "file attachement" they can ONLY be viewed by "logged in" members of the forum. I believe that's correct?

I notice Todds pictures can be viewed without logging in. He must have done it a different way.

Thanks

In order to post as I have, you need to have an on-line account somewhere that you can upload your pictures to. Then you can simply use the "Img" feature when replying to a post (you have to use the "Full editor" reply, not the quick reply). To post a pic, click the little box that says "Img" and copy/paste a link to your on-line picture. To get a better idea of what I am talking about, go to my post above with all the pictures and click "quote" as if you were going to quote and reply......take a look at what you see in the quoted message when it opens in the reply editor.

I got a free Flikr account I use to upload my pictures. http://www.flickr.com/

Make sense?

Cute video BarbeIco!

What’s the weather like in Italy?

We are in the middle of a blizzard here which has been howling for six hours. It’s supposed to go on all weekend! It will take days to dig out of this one. So far, we still have electricity, but usually the power lines get blown down. Most people have standby generators. I have a generator but didn’t get any gas/petrol for it

You know women so well Lylo. She was so pleased that you said that, she went out into the blizzard smiling.

Actually it was me that went out (of course). I left her to handle the stir crazy kids in a cold house when the power went off :) I took the 4x4, smashed my way through the snow banks, drove for miles on the road which was sort of plowed, in poor visibility, to try to find a gas station that had power and was open. Filled up the cans while getting almost blown over by -20C hurricane force winds whilst my fingers went through various stages of frost bite. Made it home! Just 5 minutes after the power came back on by itself. It works every time! You don’t actually need a generator. It’s the expedition to the gas station that does the trick.

Amazing pics GR :peace:.

It's been 38 - 39 C (100 - 102 F) here for the last three days and will be for the next two btw :P. 11 hour day today with 9 of those pulling down brick walls. 9 pm here now and still over 90 F! Another heatstroke headache day :P. And, we start again in 9 hours :o. 999 should be the devil's number .

I have a dodgy mouse and a BIABacus bug to fix but buggered if that's getting done tonight :nup:.

You asked for stories/pictures/videos here and I might have one for you that includes all three. I think there's some pics and possibly a video (or sound recording?) buried on this computer somewhere. Give me a few days to let me see if I can find those first.

Keep cool ;).
