Hi all -

Read up and got some great advice from this site and had had a "practice" with a couple of BIAB brews:
*1st - vienna/zythos smash; and
*2nd - english pale/muich malt paired with the rest of the zythos.
Both 1/2 batches (approx 9L) and should be 40-50 IBU range.

1st brew bottled and 2nd in the fermenter. Looking forward to tasting the results in a few weeks.

I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand. Home of some great craft/micro breweries:
wigrambrewing.co.nz/
threeboysbrewery.co.nz/
thetwistedhop.co.nz/
casselsbrewery.co.nz/

If i've missed any good one, someone PLEASE TELL ME ASAP!

Cheers, AC

Hello everyone. My name is Ted and I've been brewing about 4 months. I've done two partial mash batches and both are ok. I've been a beer enthusiast for a long time and am really excited about learning to brew good beer.
I'm from Louisville, KY in the U.S. and found this site randomly while looking for voile bag materials and ideas.
This site looks like a really great place to share ideas and learn about BIAB so thanks to those who put it up and keep it up.

Post #3208 made 12 years ago
Welcome Ted, glad to see you leaving the PM behind and going to all grain. BIAB is nothing more than a large partial mash with no malt extract added, should be an easy step for you. We just had another brewer from your neck of the woods show up,http://www.biabrewer.info/memberlist.ph ... ile&u=6490, perhaps you guys can connect?

Hello all,

My name is Richard and I was guided to this site by someone on another forum, I have looked at the 40L Crown Urn BIAB method and believe I am up for my first AG brew.

I have brewed on and off using Kits & Kilo for over 20 years & since discovering temperature control have started brewing Kits & Bits with excellent result, its now time for the next level and a new adventure that doesn't limit me to certain styles.

Can anyone advise/point me in the right direction for purchasing an Urn at the best price in Australia?

Looking forward to my new adventure!!

Hello from Oro Medonte Ontario, Canada

My name is Fred just got back to brewing after a few years of not brewing, the changes are unreal. I was directed here from another site and the idea of BIAB seems awesome, and a great way to brew all grain. I just started another two extract brews and once they are complete I should be ready for trying this method - looks like a great site to explore and learn.

Hi everyone, I'm in the UK, been brewing for a few years now, started off with kits like most folks then went up to all grain.
I've seen sites were folks do BIAB, I must admit it looks less hassle than what I put myself through on a brew day.

So here I am looking at the different ways to make a good pint. ;)

Hi,

With several extract and all grain brews completed the past few years I just completed my first two BIAB's here in the mountains (5555 feet) of Southern California! Both were Rogue Hazelnut Brown clone. My efficiency was amazing (for me) at 72% and then 84%. More amazing was how little time the entire process took. I'm new to this forum but have found much valuable info. If I can now just get used to the metric system I'll be in business.

Thanks!
