Just a bit of information for your gratification. Last weekend we had a brew party at the home of a club member that has migrated to a full brewery. It was many of the same mob of brewers that I have been brewing with for years. I was the only BIAB'er within a days driving distance. I had four people brewing with BIAB last week! Most of them had bags stitched up by my better half. It was very gratifying that I was involved with the conversion.
I even had a guy using no chill with the others wanting to get their own cubes! At last nights club meeting one of the traditional 3V brewers overheard someone ask me about no chill and he said "you can't do that you will get DMS" before I could respond someone else? said that that was not true! I could not believe it! No only do we have four BIAB brewers they are defending no chill without my help! Times have changed!
On a side note. I brewed two beers that day and was finished cleaning up before some 3V'ers were with their one brew! I brewed a simple Cream Ale and a batch of "Smoked Bacon and Eggs" beer! I cooked some bath cooked eggs in the mash (and ate them) and brewed some beer with 50% cherry smoked malt. The Bacon comes in after the fermentation.
I cooked the poop out of some bacon to the point that it was black. I soaked up as much of the grease as I could with paper towels and then crumbled the 8 strips of bacon to dust. I then placed the bacon in a sanitized jar with vodka. The grease that was left has floated to the top and I will pour off the bacon flavored vodka into the keg when kegging! I hope to have a fun time drinking Smoked Bacon and Eggs for breakfast? Or dumping some smokey flower fertilizer?
