Hey all first post on this forum so here goes im from Scotland have brewed a few kits started in nov 2011 but did my first extract brew with a grain mash on monday found it to be a good eperience just upgrading my equipment at the minute got keg which i am converting into a keggle by puting on a ball valve and fitting to heating elements into it the extract was brew in the bag method, am really looking forward to finishing this and starting on a fermentation fridge next a think so as to be able to control my temps :thumbs:

Hi all
1. I'm from Antrim, in Northern Ireland
2. Came across the site from reading about it on http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk
3. The site has a wealth of information lookig forward to putting some of it into practice
4. I started brewing this year with a coopers canadiab blonde, hope to do a few kits then migrate over to all grain brewing and BIAB seems like a great way to get into it
5. Work so its nice to be able to get a few homebrews in

Good Day Operon, Welcome to the forum.
BIAB is a great way to move from Extract to All-Grain.
All Grain has many more ways to brew beer than Extract, and BIAB is simple to start.

Hi all

I'm a Brit who has recently started home brewing and loving it!

So far I've only done kits and extract but I am looking to brew beer from raw ingredients and producing lots of wonderful beer. :thumbs:

BIAB looks to be ideal for me and with my birthday 1 week away I should be getting all the gear I need. Can't wait.

I look forward to posting my biab experiences here and learning from the knowledge of those who have gone before.

BIAB IS the ideal way to brew all-grain, It is an easy step to move from Extract+Special grains.
All you need is a big bag for your kettle, and your ready to brew!

I'm another Brit who's crossing over from Kit Brewing.

Only started last year but I'm going to give Maxi BIAB a go as soon as possible.

Maxi-BIAB is really the best way to get evrything from the grains, and use the equipment the best you can.

Welcome mate!

You are very lucky, I wish I had found out about BIAB so early
and not waste time in expensive or laborious methods!

Hi all, I'm from the United States and I'm only 2 brews into my brewing career.

I have only done modified specialty grain kits so far and the more I look into the process the more I see BIAB is for me. Less time, and less investment, hell yes!

I stumbled onto this website from a Google search and I look forward to learning about BIAB and sharing my experiences.

OK, it appears that I have now worked it out, G,day All, my name is Ken and iam known as The Old Fart, first watched my father home brewing after the 2ndWW and that required him to malt his own grains and the hardest thing was to get good yeast for brewing.I have drifted in and out of brewing for most of my life and recently a friend asked me to teach him how to brew so here I am to learn the latest method and we hope to join in and contribute to this group,I live in the SE suburbs of Melbourne,retired from the plastics industry 5 years ago, SWMBO, has retire as well so now we have more time for the good life, Cheers, Ken.

BIAB is the easist way to brew, with the least equipment, and make the best beer possible, with the least effort.

If you need some help with BIAB or have questions, let us help, Just post where you have you question.

Just checking in now that I have read through alot of the topics here and done two BIAB sessions.

I'm from the Albany, New York area (100 miles north of New York City) and heard about this site from a thread on BIAB on homebrewtalk.com

Prior to my BIAB attempts I've never brewed before. I just on a whim decided to try it and BIAB in my research seemed like a good fit for me. I just kegged my first BIAB and took a sample. It tasted a little weak to me so I think I have alot to learn still. However it doesnt taste bad so I'll take that as a plus. I think its due to me using a kit from northern brewer and using the "calculator" my grain bill was light by a couple of pounds. Live and learn.

Regardless cant wait to brew another batch and try and fine tune the process to making a great beer.

Welcome along KReynolds, first rule of all grain brewing is it's very hard to make 'bad' beer.

Once you get some confidence in your process, you will find that creating great beer, isn't very hard either.

Well after 10 years of procrastination I have started to clean up the workshop which has seen work cease and accumulation of bits and pieces take over to a point that there is no room to brew, I can just squeeze past stuff to get to the fridge and that's all.Found yeast that has expired years ago plus some odd and sods of hops, about a third of a bag of dextrose and a full bag of grain still not opened that is stored in a drum, cant remember when I bought that and so the voyage of discovery continues, better get back to work before the Boss turns up, Cheers, Ken.

Hi everyone. My name's Glenn and I'm from Hobart, Tasmania. I've just stumbled across this site and i know already im going to get a lot out of it! I've been brewing for a couple of years now. I've done a half dozen kit beers, a dozen or so partial mash beers and since putting together a BIAB set-up last month, im now on to my second All-grain BIAB (brew day tomorrow!). My set-up is a 40lt crown urn with a ball valve fitted.
