Hi Guys,

I'm an American from Madison, WI. I've attempted BIAB once with pretty good results. I've looked through the site and loved the guides on Mini-BIAB and Maxi-BIAB. Looking to check out the calculators some have posted. Excited to become a member!

Thanks,

Matt

Hello Fellow brewers,I thoght I had posted before but I guess not,I've done several 10 gal batches since I first came on to this sight and thanks to the great info that was gained here they,ve all turn out fantastic.
The very first one was a brown ale 6% abv,the second a stout at 6.5% and the third a IPA at 6%,next up with grains in hand is a Irish Red Ale which I'll probably brew this weekend.I love BIAB as does my family.thanks for a great sight to learn from,by the way I went from 5 gal extract straight to 10 gal biab very successfully so for all you doubters out there stop sittng on the sidlines and join the game, you'll be glad you did, easy process and great beer.

Greetings everybody! Minnesota native, brewing for about a year now. Getting ready to move on from extract brewing to AG; read the article in BYO and thought that it might be a good transitory step. Looking forward to my first BIAB adventure.

Good Day StubbornBully, Welcome! Good To hear your going to All-Grain, BAIB really is the first step, and the last step.
Making great beer with one kettle and a bag is all that you need.
Instead of buying hundreds of dollars of equipment, you can spend on GRAINS!!
Look over the Site, and when you get questions, post, and we can answer!

Hi all, I'm an extract + specialty grain brewer and have been interested in pursuing all-grain brewing for some time. I find the BIAB concept intriguing, and it looks like a good way to get introduced to all-grain brewing without quite as much outlay for equipment or process complexity.

I'll probably be just lurking for a bit, but I am looking forward to learning the process and getting started.

Good Day CthulhuDreaming, Welcome to our site. Since you have done some special-grain partial mashs, you might have a bag the size of your kettle, If you do, you can leave the extract and go all grain now.
BAIB is a single vessel with a bag to do the brewing.

I just bottled my first BIAB. I did a little taste test and it was just OK - too hoppy for my taste. I live in central Iowa, US of A. I plan to grow barley this spring on a small scale and hope to try malting and roasting some of my own grains. I planted a few hop rhizomes a couple years ago and they are producing now too. So I'm looking for help with formulating a truly local beer - I already forgot what variety of hops I planted :-)

Hi There,

Here is the low down on me

1. Where are you from? Adelaide, South Australia

2. How did you stumble across the site? Google (Looking for BIAB info)

3. What you think of it so far? great site, good resource for first timers (like me) and experience alike

4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using? brewed quite alot, mostly extract but also some partials. Now ready for the next step and cant justify the expense of a fully AG setup - so BIAB is the logical choice

5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
Work.

Cheers

Will

Hi everyone. New brewer from Gothenburg, Sweden, here. I've done two biab brews so far, both at the same time  . And of course I was overloaded on my first brewday. Looking forward to learn more about brewing beer and doing more biab brews in the near future, one at a time ;) . And looking forward to hang out here at the BIABrewer forum, reading and contributing.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member to the site. I've been spending some time over on another home brewing forum and stumbled across this one too.

My name is Al, I'm originally from South Africa but have lived in the UK most of my life. I stated home brewing back in November 2011 and have only done 3 batches so far, all extract brews using pre hopped kits such as Coopers etc.

I'm trying to see how to move further into the world of home brewing without needing a lot of space and equipment, and I think BIAB seems like the logical way to go, but I don't really have a clue... Hoping to learn a lot from the experience on the board here.

Cheers,

Al

Good Day Joe(thamnophis), Welcome. BIAB is a great way to brew, and Hop additons are different than the darkside(3v), many times less is better.
Growing your own can be good, but tricky. Malting is fun but a lot of work, Using homegrown hop needs a lot of adjusting.
Opening that first totally homemade beer is GREAT.
Let us known how your doing!
