Hi!!

Brewing in Waterdown Ontario, Canada. Gearing up to make my first BIAB soon..

OK by "gearing up" I guess I just mean getting my wife to sew up a BIAB bag for me and waiting for my homebrew supplier to re-open after christmas break so I can get some grains...

From everything I am reading it should be just that simple to convert me from Extract \w specialty grains to all grain ...

I have been brewing for a total of ~5 years - started with Coopers kits on the stove in my apartment in Montreal - When I was partial boiling I would open my apartment door (1st floor) shovel up some snow drop my pot in the pile, pull up a chair - light a cigar and wait for the wort to cool - right on the corner of Rene Levesque Blvd and Hotel de Ville-

After a couple of moves and a small hiatus while living in a condo (with swmbo) - I now am a garage brewer with Propane burner and 50L pot

I mostly like IPA's, Stouts but fiddle with Canadian style Ale's for my friends that are not converted yet..

I currently bottle but would like to get into Kegging -

I hope to get ideas, advice, methods from this web site. I hope that occasionally I can lend my experiances to brewers with questions/ideas/opinions

Thanks

Shane

Hi all,
I'm a relatively new brewer (bout 10 batches). Currently brewing extract with steeped grains (ready for next step). Live in McDowall in Brisbanes northside. Love beer, love brewing, love researching, reading and experimenting. Have very quickly realised the benefits of all grain and BIAB definately seems like the best way to get started especially wit my current equipment, time, ease etc...
Look forward to exploring the site and making even better beer!
Cheers,
Simo

Hi everyone, I'm Jim and as the handle(s) imply I'm a wee bit Scottish!!! So plenty of 'wee heavies' recepies needed! I've only been brewing for a few months this time round, last time was back in the 80's when it tasted awful and looked worse! The pub was cheaper and easier so that's what won. This time it's different. The http://www.recession.com is hitting everyone and the way I see it home cooked is better....that's how it was in the past, every home did it's own beer...so now is the time to re-invnet the wheel :drink:
Erm...I'm married to a beautiful Danish lady, we have 5 kids!!!! :idiot:
A mad spaniel, vicious cat and we are both Aikido coaches. :P
I'm moving up from kits so need a huge help up the ladder to BIAB which has to be the best way into AG brewing. I simply don't have to room for four huge tuns with enough pipework to confuse a plumber etc etc.
Thanks for letting me join in.
Here's to many new brew days

Good Day Jim the Kilt, Welcome!, Great to hear your going to BIAB from 3 Vessel! What are you going to do with the other Vessels when you go Single kettle, and a bag? Many of us have had to make coolers out of our Tuns! If you have questions or need a "wee Heavy" recipe, let us know and someone should surely help.

Good Day RobWalker, Welcome Aboard, Moving from Partial mash to BIAB is easy, More grains, less extract, and a slightly different process. And a good Thermometer. Check out the Master Guide for BIAB and look over the "Commetary" http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=190 it should help you move to BIAB quickly! Good Luck!

Hello all. My name is Devin and I am from the mountains of Northern New Mexico. I have been doing a lot of research lately to get into brewing and discovered BIAB over on the HBT forum. I have assisted in a couple of traditional all-grain brews before, but have never stepped up to purchasing equipment for myself. I am attracted to the single vessel aspect of BIAB.

Most days I spend working as an R&D Engineer at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. When I am not there, I enjoy rock climbing, working on my '69 Bronco, trail running, and enjoying good beer.

Looks like a great site here. I am hoping to learn a bunch.

Hi All,

Getting back into HB after a lay off of 10 years or so

My reintroduction research has led me to this new-fangled BIAB concept

I was previously a 3V'r that dabbled a little with "no-sparge" and I do understand the difference between BIAB and "no-sparge" and that they are different animals :peace:

I hope after this post I'll be able to access the Master-guide material and continue my research and get started brewing as soon as possible.

Thanks for all your efforts and see ya around the boards!

Good Day MerlinWerks, Welcome Aboard! BIAB can be Full Volume Brewing(no need to sparge), and you can MAXI-BIAB and still Sparge to get the volume you need. SO, we have many animals here. You should be able to get ALL the information from the Master Guide and download the Comentary http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=190 and get the basics of BIAB.

Hi Everyone,

I am Ben and looking to start brewing over the next 12 months. Looking forward to reading for a few months as there appears to be plenty to learn.

After travelling through Belgium and France last year I want to try and replicate some of the beers I love (Kasteel #1). The frustration of plain Australian commercial beer and the lack of a good thick Belgian Ale makes me lose sleep at night!

Background in forensics, a very heavy reader and a stickler for process when it matters will hopefully get me there one day.

Hey Everyone... Great site here. I'm a relatively new extract/partial mash brewer from Portland, OR and BIAB seems like a great way to go all grain without as much investment in equipment. Thanks for the the terrific info on this site.

Good Day Abaraff, Welcome. BIAB is the simpilest method to go ALL-GRAIN! One vessel, a bag, and a thrmometer, is all you need to start. Of course a heat source is good to have, but depends on the volume of beer you want to make. Let us know if you have any questions, we hare here to help.

Hello there, looking forward to starting all-grain with BIAB. I live in a small apartment in Manhattan where many hobbies compete for storage space so I'm hoping this will help me keep my equipment / complexity down when doing ag.
