Morning all. Last night I bottled a Timothy Taylor Landlord recipe after 10 days in the FV FG=1.008. It was crystal clear, no odd tastes, the only finings used was a protofloc tablet in the kettle. Have I just been very lucky or could this be something else at work.
Previously I have put two nearly clear beers into bottles but recently I have had beers that stayed cloudy for weeks although they had either torrified wheat or dried elderflower added which I think made a big difference.
Lots of variables I know and I'd guess most responses will tell me to judge on taste in a few weeks, just wanted to know if this happened to other people.
thanks

I don't think it anything to worry about, when I bottle I'm usually at day 12-14 and its always been clear (except 1 brew which was a bit of a cock up due to using grain leftovers plus it got too hot during fermentation and got a bit fruity..
)
A lot of it is down to the yeast, you havent said what yeast you used but have a look at its flocculation characteristics,I recently brewed a Coniston Bluebird clone using SO4 which is a high flocculation yeast and it was all finished and dropped clear in about 7 days.

yes,
S04 drops like a brick.
sometimes it drops out before completing the fermentation and leaves behind some gravity points.
