Welcome aboard Charlie,

All of us brewers have different palates. I'm probably like you and can taste extract 'twang' very easily while other faults I wouldn't even notice. The only way I could stop tasting extract twang was to move to all-grain so assuming your existing sanitisation etc are all good, you are heading for some beers you will be very happy with. And, it's easy!

Hi All!
I'm located in Commerce Township, MI. I'm just getting back into brewing after a 10 yr hiatus (the kids are in college now) and I've decided to make the leap to all grain. I've have 8 extract brew sessions under my belt (time to get to the gym) and I came across this site via a BeerSmith podcast featuring Patrick Hollingdale.

Hi everyone, I've been making partial mash recipes for a year or so and wanted to do an all grain brew. I've been reading about BIAB and think it's about the best way to do this given the equipment I have. So far this site has been great reading and I'm looking forward to learn from you guys.

Welcome time2brew and rcs7

As you've both brewed before you've already done half of the process so Biab will be a doddle..have a read of the Calculator and the commentary found Here

Don't be shy :sneak: If you have any questions just ask.

 Patrick Hollingdale  where have I heard that name before :dunno:

:luck:

Morning All!

This is my first post, and i am very new to BIAB brewing! I am looking at acquiring the neccessary kit as cheaply as possible to do all grain brewing having done 6 or so kits......

Any advice on stockists of a suitable stockpot would be great (I live in North East England).

Cheers.

Jon

Welcome JonBoy321 nice to see a NE uk resident joining Biabrewer. I'm from over that way myself but Bolton based now..

As to suppliers this guy does a nice stock pot check out his site Here Another good source is ebay and catering firms. I got mine from a Chinese lady in Leeds for £50 I might have her email address somewhere PM me if you want it and I'll try and find it.

You will also need a heat source if you go gas check out these guys Here they are based in Sunderland so could be near you. I've got the one on top of page 10. Cost me £45 with regulator and hose.

Best of luck on your first BIAB Pete :luck:

There's a few other South Africans's on the board. Maybe when the board grows a bit, you guys will have a brew day. They're always good fun!

Cheers,

Hello all.

Relatively new home brewer from West Virginia in the USA. Trying to get away from extract brewing and learn a bit more about all grain brewing. BiaB looks like a great way to go about it.

Thanks,

Boley

Hello Everyone,

Heard about BIAB on Brewsmith's Podcast and became instantly intrigued. I live in Yorktown, Va US and have brewed a hundred or so gallons of extract. I think I'm ready to move forward and this method may be the best fit for me.

Thanks for the forum, and I look forward to BIAB!!

-Chris

Good Day and Welcome, Chris and Mikael! BIAB is the best and cheapest way to brew All-Gain beer. If you have a kettle/stockpot about twice the size of the batch you want to brew, and a bag about the size of the Kettle, you are ready to go. Check out the many BIAB videos on YouTube, and check out the Master Guide at http://biabrewer.info/viewforum.php?f=25 Good Luck on your first batch, and let us know how it goes!

Welcome aboard Dean :salute:,

You'll find BIAB very easy and you'll certainly have a lot more control in your brewing. It's far harder to make a poor all-grain than it is an extract or kit beer so give it a try as soon as you can. If you're an extract brewer, all you need is a bag.

Hello all,

I am new to this site, and to a/g homebrewing and BIAB too. I have a couple of part extract/part grain brews under my belt, and have done heaps of extract brews, and I've just bought all of the necessary ingredients for my first BIAB brew.

I'm from Perth, WA, and am looking forward to picking your brains, and learning from the experts.

I look forward to speaking to you soon.

Thanks :)

Welcome Poms. There are a heap of BIAB brewers in Perth. We have a list of them in this thread which I have been very slack in updating lately. (Will get around to it soon.) If you ever want to watch a BIAB brew day, let me know :peace:.

I've just received my money back on 8 faulty kegs I bought so I now have to find new kegs that will fit in my dispensing fridge. Once I have found them, then I need to fill them. You are welcome to come around during the re-filling process but might find it more fun to come around during the emptying process Poms :P

Ah stux, if it were that easy!

My whole initial set-up was based on 'fat' kegs not thin 'corny' ones. I used to be able to get 6 x 23L kegs in my dispensing fridge. With cornie's, depending on what type, I might be able to get 6 x 19 L kegs if I am lucky. I've got mates with access to a CNC who can cut me discs of 220mm or 210 mm etc. The fit is so tight. I have to see what 'cornie' will work. None have cut it so far - always a few mms out in either height or diameter to get it all working.

Maybe I should give up and just get a new freezer (or fridge)? More measurements!!!

Welcome Onihige

And I hope you quench your curiosity.. You haven't said how much of a newbie you are, have you brewed before with kits for instance or are you a complete beginner jumping straight into AG and Biabing.

Let us know along with any questions you may have..
