Nicely written BIABacus again dom :salute:.

I'm not familiar with Panhead Supercharger apart from what I could quickly Google. Bloody strange website. I couldn't get past that first page no matter what I did? Anyway, I, of course, have no idea on whether your recipe ingredients are correct. Not only do I not know the original beer but I have never heard of "Gladfield Sour". Just Googled that I see Gladfileds is a NZ malster. Nice! I also see that the Sour Grapes Malt is probably the equivalent of acidulated malt although their description doesn't make much sense. Go figure???

On the hop side, a lot of those hops do similiar things so, on future brews, I wouldn't be scared to condense the number of varieties being used.

On the Numbers side of things I have two questions for you...

1. Is there a reason why you have, in Section B, 20.84 L (5.51 Ga;) as your desired VIF? (It just seems to not suit metric or US?)

2. In Section D, both of the first two fields are filled out. You have 23.00 L and then on the next line, you have 46.8 Tinseth IBU's. Can you remember why you filled out both fields? (Usually you would only do one of them.)

And, Happy New Year dom :drink:,

Hi,
Yep Panhead are a NZ craft brewer, getting very big here and making in-roads to Aussie I believe. Also Gladfield is a NZ maltster too. The recipe I believe is very close to the original as it was created by a guy who knows the brewer.
So - the numbers question :
Yes i should have removed the 23 L from section D and just have the desired IBU set.
Desired VIF - 20.84, now I think I've always used this figure .. not totally sure why its not rounded up really. As it happens I think I need around 21 or 21.5 desired VIF to get 19 litres into my corny so maybe I need to start setting this to 21.5 ?

Thanks for your Eagle Eyes :-D
cheers

Yeah, it's not as high abv as the original (that's nearly 6% which is a bit high for me). I do like their Quickchange too. Lower abv than supercharger. Not sure of the recipe but they do list the hops on the label so you could do a base apa then use their list of hops as a guide. Cheers
