Hello!
I'm from Massachusetts, USA, and have recently adopted BIAB as my preferred brewing method. I've been brewing for just under 4 years, mostly extract/steeped grains, but with the occasional partial-mash. After trying BIAB, I felt that it was the right method for me, going forward.
I came across this site a year or two ago, perhaps on a Google search of my own, I don't recall. But recently hearing Pat Hollingdale on the Basic Brewing Radio podcast made me decide to register and have a look around. I know only the basics of BIAB, and am certain that this is truly "the place to be" to learn more. And the hobby is all about learning, IMO.
I have worked in Information Technology for close to three decades, and am naturally drawn to the technical side of brewing. Recipe formulation, calendar planning and "hitting my numbers" are among my favorite aspects -- besides enjoying the end product, of course. But I also enjoy the "right brain" aspects of the hobby, too, including naming brews and designing labels.
I look forward to honing my craft with the general knowledge, tips and hidden gems that I'm sure I'll find here. And hopefully some day, I'll even be able to contribute in a meaningful way -- to pay it forward, so to speak.
Cheers!
