Hi
Heading here from Scotland (where its almost cold enough for lagering in the shed!!). Been brewing about about 6 months, a few kits and several partial mashes. I like American Pale Ales and Wiessbeir (used to live in Munich).
Going to dip into BIAB with a plan to get a hot water urn. That will let me move away from the gas stove in the house and get my wife and kids happy by removing the smells.
Work from home but travel to the US on business a lot so been brining back list from there. TSA are always interested in the bags of LME in my check in!
Came across BIAB from a friend (who does not actually brew?) and did some digging.

Hi everybody, Mark here from Looe in Cornwall UK. I too am looking into biab with a burco boiler, I have been brewing extract brews for a few years but have never been completely happy with them, biab is probably the only way I could go all grain in my small flat and am looking forward to being a part of the community!

If you haven't been happy with extract brews, your palate is probably sensitive to things such as acetyldehyde, green apples, or extract twang. Two of the best beers I have ever had were extracts but all the rest I seem to be able to taste at least a bit of those things. Maybe you have a plate like mine? All-grain certainly makes it very easy to avoid those flavours.
When you say, "BIAB is probably the only way I could go all-grain," I sense that you are thinking that BIAB is somehow not really true all-grain. You can be very confident in the method. Myself and many others here have changed from traditional three-vessel brewing to BIAB. One guy here actually had a $4,000 traditional rig that he abandoned in favour of BIAB because he thinks the quality is better.
So, don't, for a second, think you are compromising by going BIAB. It's actually a great decision you have made.

Alright all,

Munton's, Cooper's, black rock etc. Extracts with steeped grains, partial boil, hop additions is my present level of ability. turned out quite a few impressive batches thanks to control of ferm temps, pitching rehydrated, quality, yeast and am feeling confident in these fundamentals so thinking of trying BIAB.
Cheers and looking forward to learning a bunch of useful stuff on here.

Been on brewing hiatus for a couple of years after a series (well, 3 at least) brews went down the drain due to either infections or inadequate equipment producing less than drinkable beer. Anywho, the simplified brewing process and limited equipment required by Biab made me want to start brewing again. Initially aiming at maxi-biab with a 25l stock pot on an induction top.

I am a veteran all grain home brewing from California looking to try BIAB after almost 20 years of 3 tier style brewing. Hello All
I am new to BIAB. Have been brewing kits so far, Coopers, Muntons etc. and been happy with the results. Having read many times that BIAB is much better then kit brewing I just have to give it a go. I will need to use an electric boiler as we have no gas. Look forward to gleaning all the info I can. Thanks for all the effort put into the site.

Howdy, we am in Tulsa, OK. We have been brewing for more than 20 years.
My wife, Desiree and I started High Gravity in 2004.
I have been invited to join the discussion regarding automated electric BIAB systems.
Full disclosure: We build and sell such systems along with a good deal of 3-V systems.
I have not yet had a chance to look over a good deal of the site, but what I have seen so far looks great.

Been brewing kits since April , have completed 17 and been very happy with the outcomes. Looking to advance my brews and thought biab was the way to go. One pot etc...
I have a Christmas list of related upgrades including a 50L ss pot that's on it's way..
Will probably spend the next month reading every post on here and then hit you with the questions
Planning my first biab January 2013

Hello Everyone, I must apologize but this isn't actually my first post, but the first post on a second account I created since my first account does not seem to work for some reason (1911kevin).
I'm from the USA, Nashville, TN area. I'm primarily a scientist but moonlight as a firefighter in a volunteer department. I've now brewed three 1 gal batches of AG beer that turned out very nice and this last Saturday I scaled up and made a 6 gallon batch with all new gear, much was learned LOL! Before I post anything regarding that I wanted to follow protocol and make a new first post on this account.
Sorry to the mods for the new account, I tried everything to reset the password but there are no emails coming to my address to facilitate that.

I've actually gotten some of my gear and all my grain/yeast from them after being referred by another brewer. They've only been nice but I've never told them the methods I'm using. They can look down on me all they want LOL, my beer tastes good and my brew day is enjoyable and relatively stress free!

Good Day Kevin, Rebel Brewer is a great store, Good People, Great selection and i think since they sell Blickman systems, they may not caer about BIAB. They don't have Bags for us....BooHoo,
