Hey Pat, might I suggest learning the ancient art of "trub reading"? It's similar to reading tea leaves except your fortune is determined by the patterns in the trub at the bottom of your brew kettle.

I am very embarrassed Todd and I suppose all of us brewers should be...

Why on earth did none of us think of trub reading before, let alone immediately? You are a legend :salute:.

Can't tell you how pleased I was to see that trub reading is based on 'kettle' trub and not 'fermentor' trub. Now I can brew tomorrow and will be able to just interpret it in time for Sunday's game. Hoo-rah! :drink:

...

Bugger! Just looked for an e-book on, "How to predict American Football using your Kettle Trub," and, you won't believe this, their were zero results. Wtf?

I'll use dice this week and the dartboard next week but I do think Todd is onto something .

Well done mate :peace:.

Todd,

Where did you come up with that idea? I am going to save the trub from my next brew. Thereafter I can dump it out each week to help me make my picks. Some read palms, some read tea leaves, some read chicken bones and rocks. Now some read Dunkelweizen trub! If your so smart how come you haven't joined in too? You can't do any worse than me!

Next year Josh :),

Dice didn't work as well as the astrologers but was a lot cheaper. What did you use last week Lylo? I want some of that.

Look out BB and Yeasty, I think Lylo is a dark horse (.)

lylo,

I would continue whatever you two are doing? Your doing great! My dog also hasn't been inclined to eat hops. I tried everything! Rolling the hops in bacon, any kind of grease! She looks at me saying. "I am not going to eat it dummy" My wife dropped a M&M on the kitchen floor and it bounced to the 4 legged garbage disposal. The chocolate almost did her in! I have been eating a lot of chocolate lately. Now I wonder who will go first?

yeasty,

I have said it before. I follow the Green Bay Packers devoutly. I read about them everyday! I know more about them than most! I study each opponent and their tendencies. I even won at the OLD version of Cheesestradamus! All of that and " I STINK " :sneak: My daughters who pick based on who has the "Prettiest" uniforms are beating me! Your "shot in the dark guesses" are as good as mine! (which is really disheartening). :headhit: I looked at your picks for tonight's (7:30 PM ) game. Excellent! Brilliant!

BobBrews 19 Disqualified from International category.

I have the Prize for the International winner purchassed! The leader at the end of the season will win it! Don't miss a week's points. It's better to rush in and choose and edit later than forget to pick and have no chance for points!

I reckon the prettiest uniforms might be a good idea for next week. Is that what Lylo has been doing? Or Bob, send me $250 and I will line up the astrologers for you :P.

I hope this international prize thing didn't cost more than two dollars Bob. If it did, we need to all chip in I reckon :drink:.

(How much do we have to pay you to alter Lylo's scores?)

An enterprise for the 'gambler' as one doesn't have to watch a four hour tele marathon for an activity which only has eleven odd minutes of actual "live" ball.

thylacine,

Your WRONG about that. It's 33 minutes!! I am not good at numbers but! 3 times 11 is 33! A good Sunday afternoon includes 3 games! AND! I split the screen into two inputs and watch two games simultaneously. I do not count the time twice because I only can listen to one game at a time!

That's how I get so good at Cheesestradamus. I study the players tendencies and compare that to their opponents deficiencies. That's how I garnered 1 point in last weeks game! Through sheer brain power! You know when your retired from your job you have to do something to remain active. Believe me when I say you get a lot of exercise jumping in and out of that chair and then running to the bathroom. The beer plays havoc on what's left of my liver!

http://cheesestradamus.com/ is keeping me slim and fit! :drink:

PP,
Two dollars is about it because the shipping charges will be considerably more than the prize! But never fear the Prize is here. Now someone will have to claim it!

did I miss anyone else? There is still time to get in! I split the season in half and the score will go down to 0 so everyone starts equal for the second half! 1st half winner and 2nd half winner and a overall winner!

Welcome to the game Mally . I hope you take it as seriously as we do .

Just do the opposite of what Bob did last week and you will win for sure - probably both the first and second half seasons .

Hey Bob, that's a great idea on splitting it into two half seasons . I think BIABrewer should do heavy advertising to get as many members into the second season as possible. Maybe replace the Google ads with Cheesetradamus ads?

PP,

It has been a crazy year for my team! Because everything is happening backwards your advice about doing the opposite of me may be good advice.(finally good advice from PP!) It was a hard earned 1 point last week but I will take a win and no points if I can. I expect to take the lead this up coming Sunday 12:00 PM. I may not be able to qualify for the prize but I will take great satisfaction in crushing a bunch of drunks that know nothing about American football by one or two points or is that one or two PINTS?

Thanks for the welcome guys,

I guess the game is yet to be played, or my big fat zero is looking a bit humiliating!

I actually do know a thing or two about American football, but unfortunately what i learned was back in the 80's, when William Perry (AKA "the fridge")was around, and i hadn't lost any brain cells to alcohol.

mally,
Don't worry about lost brain cells! It doesn't matter! There are PLENTY of regulars around here that have gotten along fine without them! And I, and I, Damn! Lost my train of thought. Anyway, I have shown that even though I am inebriated most of the time. I do just fine in, in, damn! Go Packers! :drink:

P.S. Keep trying just for experience. In a couple of weeks we all go back to Zero, naught, Nada, 0. and start over again. Then you can, can, Damn, Oh, ah, I thought I had it for a second there? never mind!

When I read that Bob, I was relieved. I was thinking that beating mally would be as easy as beating you .

But then he writes...

:argh:

If mally knows as little about American football as he thinks he does, Yeasty, Lylo and myself are in for some stiff competition. Who is this upstart?

I am so upset by this latest development, I am going to bed and may never post here again .

This weeks game (Oct.21st) is game 7. After game 8 (Oct 28th) we will start the second half of the season. The winner for the first half will have bragging rights only for now! I will have prizes for the first half, second half, and third half! (wait! Damn numbers) lets make the third half "Play Offs" The prizes will be mailed out after the season is completed!

Listen up! Anyone can play (proved by yeasty) so if you have mates who you think would like to join, get them to start now! Recently announced. Two American Football games will be played in London next year. Each year they have been playing one game and it is so popular (profitable) that they have added that second game. http://www.nfluk.com/

There is a game at Wembley October 28th. good luck getting tickets for that game now!
Cheers and "Go Green Bay Packers"

P.S. PP get some sleep Man!

PP - Just wait and see, you may have nothing to worry about :smoke:

BB - The games in the UK certainly look interesting. They would have to play "up north" though, and look at the prices for tickets
How does that compare to what you guys in the US would pay to see a game? (cheapest ticket is £50, $80 USD).
That to me is 250L of beer

mally,

I have gone to one game in my life! I was a guest of one of my son-in-laws. It was a per-season practice game. The season tickets for my team are handed down through the family and extremely hard to acquire. The waiting list is so long that it you want to be put on the list it will take over 90 years before your turn comes up! I love my team but I would rather watch at home! They don't serve home brew at the game and I need a close toilet! The price for tickets is about the same. Depending on the importance of the game they may rise up to $250 US. There is a good market for tickets by owners who just sell the tickets for profit.
