Adman1966,
The problem was that they flipped the coin to see which team would get the ball first. To the fan at home, it (seemed) that the team that won the coin toss would get the ball, kick a field goal and win! The other team didn't have a chance with the ball? In actuality. It worked out about even. The fans (Fanatics) didn't see it that way?
So now we play one extra quarter. At the end of the quarter if no one has scored the game ends in a tie. (*a sister kisser) They also changed the rule so that if the team who wins the coin toss scores a field goal. The other team will still get the ball once. After each team has had a chance with the ball. It is sudden death from there on in. Also, if the team who wins the coin toss scores a touchdown than the game is over! The other team doesn't get the ball. They figure that the team without the ball had chances to stop the other team, and didn't?

The overtime rules were changed this year after 100 years. In a tie game we played another quarter (15 min.) and went into sudden death. The first team that scored, won. They used to end up playing two or more quarters sometimes! That was a exhausting ordeal. (and it screwed up the TV schedule for the night and that had something to do with it too!)Quite a comeback on Sunday, I didn't know about overtime! Don't you guys like draws/ties?

Players,
Just a last minute (day?) reminder. The game is tomorrow November 28 2013 at 11:30 AM CST. So I am telling you now. Do it now or you will forget. There only a few weeks left so now is the time to make you move.
I plan on really trying this week! Unless I score poorly then I will start the following week (unless I score poorly. then I will start the following week..... Unless I score P........ Etc. Etc. Etc.)
Check out the grand total leader board below. As always. Just click on the column heading to sort on that individual column.

Well my picks are in.... no copying you guys.
We will soon find out who will be giving thanks on Thanks Giving.
In response to a tied game, I like cricket and that can last for 5 days and still be a draw. Maybe they should have an overtime rule?

A Big Turkey! Packers lose 40 to 10.
The game was not as close as the score indicates. ( this is meant as humor because it was worse than the bad score indicates)
I write this in the fourth quarter while the game is in progress because our turkey is almost on the table and the boss is screaming for me to carve it. But in a larger sense the Turkey in on the football field. I have been a Packer Fan for at least 60 years. But I have never been truly embarrassed until today.
The Packers defense should be banned from football for negligence. It’s a total embarrassment. The only chance we have is if a meteor hits the field and the world is over.
If you look at the results of the game you will see Lylo was the high man with 0 points. The rest of us tied in second with 0 points. I thought I owed Lylo as a good and faithful Cheese player to let him win with 0 points. God knows he would never do it on his own!
The Packers were expected to have about a 12 win and 4 loss season? We are sitting at 5 wins 6 losses and a tie.
I apologize to you all for this mess. How can you figure the points if your team is going through a mess like this. 10 days from now the Packers will be at home with our regular quarterback back in command (I hope).
Please keep at it and hope for the best but (for now) expect the worst!

alymere, Adman1966, Yeasty,
Thanks for your show of support. I feel gutted and as if I am going to explode. Oh wait. That is from the 20 pound turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and assorted vegetables. Not to mention pumpkin pie, apple and blackberry pie. After not eating for a week I am in pain. All of you who knew that this would happen "please raise their hands"
P.S. I decided just before the game that I was not going to get serious picking so that you guys might still have a chance. I am considerate until the last.

Lylo,
We are playing "Cheese" just fine it's the Packers who are in a funk! They totally looked lost and confused throughout the game. They were without high profile players but "gee wiz". We will have to see what happens with Aaron Rodgers back at quarterback?
Thanks for being a good sport about everything.

mally,
Indeed Aaron was the NFL MVP in (2010?) and he is worth the money (120 million dollars over 5 years) If you are not playing however? Maybe some money should have gone to surround him with better teammates? We can always have some fun playing Cheese even if you cannot trust the Pack to play close to their averages. I have never seen such low scores in my life.
I have done so well losing weight until yesterday. Now I have to sink into depression knowing that my team failed and I probably gained weight for the first time since last August. I had BeerFast going for me last week. I lost seven pounds in seven days. I am down from 273 pounds to 232. So I lost 41 pounds. (18.6 Kilograms) Now I have to carry the weight of the Green Bay Packers on my shoulders also!
Thanks for your support in this time of need!

Finally have finished writing answers on the forum that even Lylo could probably answer
. Have corrected some of Bob and mally's usual poorly written stuff (why aren't they banned?) and finally get time to read this thread and see Bob has sunk to new major lows in his post above.
Adman, alymere and Joco are only posing comedy stuff now.
I can't believe the quality of this thread has dropped so quickly. It would be like the Packers losing Aaron Rodgers for a week.
Oh, hold on...

Players,
Get your picks in now. Only four games left!
Sundays weather report. High temp during the game 20 F (-6.6C) with occasional snow. If the Packers don't have Rodgers at quarterback at least they will have "Old Man Winter" on their side. Atlanta weather for Sunday is 72F (22C).Quarterback Aaron Rodgers took part in his first practice in pads since sustaining a broken collarbone Nov. 4, though he still appears unlikelyto be cleared for Sunday’s game against Atlanta.
Coach McCarthy would not say whether Rodgers will undergo any more X-rays or MRIs this week. During the portion of practice open to reporters, backup Matt Flynn again appeared to be working as the starter.

alymere, I thought a quarterback was an American thing. You know, like, "I returned my video to the store early and they gave me a quarterback."

Green Bay --- Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been declared out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Matt Flynn will start another week for the Packers. Rodgers practiced this week but still is not ready to go!
(adjust your points down)
It looks like a another tough game ahead? We are playing a team that is in the same position as the Packers. Injuries have devastated the Falcons but they still have a quality quarterback at the helm.
The weather is now predicted to have a high of 19°F (-7.2°C) with light snow. (1 to 3 inches) The Falcons have never played in anything under 40°F (4.4°C). Football players normally play in short sleeves without any Winter wear to show how tough (stupid)
they are.
If you haven't made your picks (or changed them) you better dot it now. The Packers play at Noon (12PM) on Sunday!
P.S. You blokes are CRAZY!
