Lylo,

On any given Sunday a upset can happen? The Packers have most of its starting play makers in the hospital or out for the season. The second and third string players are now starting. Three of our starting receivers are not playing. The Packers are favored by odds makers by a wide margin. Watch the short video on this page and learn.

Putrid in prime time, bumbling Vikings fall to Giants, drop to 1-5

The Vikings were even worse than the Giants, who were awful but won their first game. Updated 7:10 AM

Josh Freeman: Throws were 'a hair off'
Souhan: Purges past might be revisited after Vikings' flop
NY Giants 23, Vikings 7

I can't put into words how terrible that game was, how bad it was to watch, and how embarrassed I am as a Vikings fan.

They have become a national joke, and the laughingstock of the NFL.

So here's what I thought going in to the game:Seriously, this was an embarrassment. Sell everything. Bill Musgrave called 53 pass plays with a quarterback that's been in Minnesota less than two weeks. With the best running back in football.

They scored zero offensive touchdowns against a defense that was worse than the Vikings were entering this game, giving up 35 points a game.

I've been to low points in my Vikings fandom, but this...this was different. The Vikings are a national embarrassment, a joke of a team, and no discernible plan to fix it moving forward. I mean, if Josh Freeman is the answer to fix this, it's going to be a hot mess for a long time.

What's that, give Freeman a chance? This coming from you Ponder haters that wanted to bench Ponder after every incomplete pass the last three years?

This season not only sucks, it;s now wrapped in a blanket full of irony.

Sorry kids. That's all I have. There is nothing...NOTHING...redeeming about this football team right now, from how the players execute, to how it's coached, or how it's run.

Maybe I'll come back in a day or two with a more complete SMR. But this is where we are, and we're not climbing out of this hole quickly. And I'm pissed. I'm pissed my father will die before the Vikings could give him one...just one...season of pure, unadulterated joy. I'm pissed that this franchise is going backwards, not forwards, and it feels like they're picking up speed on the way down, as opposed to putting on the brakes.

Sell everything, trade what they can, and blow the whole goddamn thing up (H/T Eric Thompson):

Don't forget to get your picks in for Sunday Nights game. Anything can happen in football so the Vikings could beat the Packers? I would not bet on it but they are ready to upset the Packers each time they play!

I'm just sat watching the 49ers thrash the Jaguars in London. I'm really surprised how they manage to make an hour of football last so long! If I was sat drinking beer I'd be flat out by the end!

Players,

The Vikings scored in garbage time but were punch less most of the game. The Packers scored almost each time they touched the ball. The under manned Packers still scored 44 points. No injuries that were reported.

As for you Joco, we expected more this week. I made sure I watched the whole mini-series of Vikings before I even attempted making my picks this week. How good was that show?

It's a close race and anybody can win the first half prize? If your not doing so hot (like me) we start fresh the following week and we are all equal again.

Just a thought, It takes time for checks to clear the international banking system. :smoke:

You guy are all crazy! :argh: I guess I feel at home here because of that! :smoke:

This is just a reminder that The next game is Monday Night. One of the problems of being a popular team is that the TV networks all want you for there "special games" That means that they will be the only game playing and they know we draw the biggest viewership. So they charge the most for their commercials! There is something compelling about a town of 105,000 people playing against teams from towns of 14 million souls and beating them. A Davis and Goliath scenario.

Don't put off making your picks until Monday because you will be drunk and forget :shoot: (PP) hint. Also be aware that the half way point is after this game and Mally is winning. We need a group effort to knock him out for the first half prize! (unless he sends in his regular weekly bribe money)?
We all start equal at 0 for the next game with Philadelphia so if you are playing badly (or laying back on purpose like me) you can redeem your manly honor in the second half.

New players are welcome to play for the second half prize. Everybody is starting at Zero, Zed, Nada next week. You don't have to know anything about it (as I have proven  ) to win!

Do you live in Green Bay Bob? Amazing how a town so small can fill a stadium of 60,000! Do you get to see any of the games live? That sounded wrong, I mean do you get to go to the game?

alymere,

Greenbay is a hour and a half drive from here. In my 65 years I managed to go to one (pre-season) game. The tickets are handed down thru families and the waiting list for season tickets is so long that if you get your new born child on the waiting list they may never live long enough to get a season ticket. The capacity is now (with the new addition) 80,000 people. They added 7,000 seats this year so a lot of people moved up the waiting line quickly. The last people to qualify were waiting 35 years. Most of them were 65 to 70 years old!

It is amazing! :o http://www.packers.com Here is the Packers web site. They may have information that would be interesting to you?

Go luck :luck: this week!

Players,
The Packers were devastated by the early loss of Aaron Rodgers the leader of the team. With a replacement that has never played a down with the Packers we were skunked from the get go. The run game was OK but without the threat of a passing game they stacked the box and dared Seneca to throw the ball. The packers ran for 199 yards 150 by Lacy alone. Wallace threw for 114 yards and Aaron for 27 for a total of 141. We wait on Aaron’s fate!
The points were way off because the Packers were not able to play with a substitute Quarterback!

Mally,

It is my pleasure to host the contest. I devote my Winter season to football so why not have some fun with it? Sadly for my Green Bay Packers. The season will be down the tubes without our all star quarterback (the leader). :nup: If he is not playing for 3 or 4 weeks we have no adequate replacement for him. We can only hope for the best from the backups and so far they have done well.

I appreciate your playing (and winning) our crazy game. As American football spreads in the U.K. your chance of seeing the Packers play may help you understand what's going on?? Good luck in the second half. :luck:

Gentleman, (and PistolPatch) :shoot:

We will be starting the second half of the season Sunday November 10th 2013.

I will now play the game seriously! ( I have been lying back to keep you clowns feeling that you had a chance!) :smoke: I will crush you like two-row grain! :o So be aware that the gloves will come off! Having said that. The games will be hard to pick with so many regular players out for the rest of the season!

My mighty Green Bay Packers have lost the team leader (the quarterback) for 4 or so games. The upcoming schedule was once coincided weak and a run of (practice games). The games are now dog eat dog conflicts with our team playing with one hand tied behind its back! So temper your picks. The average stat for our team will be lowered without our regular team leader playing.

Good luck to all. :luck:

Please play even though you will lose to my feats of prognostications.

Players,

The Packers lost the substitute quarterback in the first series for the second week in a row. The new quarterback was on the practice squad last week and he was thrown into the game without even practicing with his fellow players. Only a miracle will help the mighty Packers now! The unpredictability of the players will make it very hard to make good choices. the averages of the first 8 games will throw off the more recent games?

First game of the second half is over!
