How much did you brew in 2012?

Post #1 made 12 years ago
I did a quick tally of my brewing book for 2012 and found that I brewed just over 800L (211 US Gallons) in 2012 and averaged a brew day almost every 2 weeks :champ:

Now ive either got a lot of thirsty friends or have major evaporation problems :dunno: My wife's 40th birthday party smashed through just under 120L in one night.

I did throw one 42L brew away, not because it was infected, but just because it tasted like crap and I didn't want to make anyone especially myself suffer through that.

So how did you go?

800L nice going, no wonder PP is always parked in your driveway..

I think  I brewed about 12 times at 24L into packaging every brew so that's about 288L.

I have a "Brewers log book" that was given to me by the people from "Basic Brewing Radio" for my experiments and camera work. It is a excellent way to record and keep your brewing information. Well worth the money if you decide to purchase one.

For the first time I have a record of what I've done in a year! I brewed 27 times. All except one was 5 gallons the other was 10 gal. so 28 times 5 = 140 Gallons or 540 liters. I really can't say if it was more or less than last year but from now on it will be in my log book!

Shameless plug there Bob :nup: Obviously those guys at BBR have hypnotised you and filled your brain with unashamed propaganda and sales talk promoting there products. This would account for the lack of space for football related statistics.

Yeasty, I too am shocked at Bob's shameless self-promotion of his non-stop guest appearances on Basic Brewing Radio. Disgraceful! I hope he has lined up an interview with me for when I win Cheesetradamus .

Since I met Aces, I hardly have to brew at all .

2012 for me was about 280 L plus about 90 L brewed with Aces at a brew day here. (Aces was drunk the whole time so I take full credit for those 90 L .) Still have 130 L or so of all that stuff fermenting now or in cubes. I usually only drink my brews with friends so I need to either get more friends or stop drinking Ace's beer or do less work this year!

 :dunno:

Well, seeing as though I can only legally brew 100 gallons per year here in the States (only one adult in my household)......I brewed 100 gallons. I am assuming BB got married (way back when) so that he could legally brew 200 gallons per year?

thughes.

Married 40 years. The marriage has to stay together so I can brew up more beer! My poor math skills would keep me under 100 gallons even if I was alone. Maybe I should keep a second log book in case the feds come looking? First I cook the beer then I cook the books!

Ok, here's a shamless plug for my brewing log book. They can be purchased through me for $20 a book, I can even fill them in for you if you would like. Pre-filled in books $30. Interesting beer names are extra as I have to bring in an external marketing consultant for that. Dates, numbers and quality of beer not guaranteed!

Be quick, they wont last

Wow, Pre-filled! Is it extra if I only want hoppy pre-filled recipes or do I have to erase the malty beers by hand? Do you ship to the States? Do you have a interpreter decipher from Australian to English? What a deal!

hadn't thought about this until i saw this thread so i just looked at my own log spreadsheet.
so i brewed 24 batches this year. but some were 40 liter double batches and some 10 liter half batches. total is apx. 460 liters.
Cube:
fermenter: Sourdough Spelt Ale, Classic Lambic, Oud Brune, Barrel Aged Belgian Dubbel
Kegs: Bob's Black IPA, Blanc Blond, Soda...
to be brewed:

Hmmmmmmm.......
I have checked the spreadsheet which contains all the important information to find that 2012 was the quietest of my BIAB brewing years at 260litres. Due to some 8 weeks away from home. I hope to rectify both those issues this year.

I don't have my brew computer with me but I estimate about 250L.
That includes a total absence from home of about 5 months.
I don't think I would have brewed much more than that even if I had been home as I still have 75L in cubes waiting to be passed through my magical transformation bucket.

I managed about 8 brew days in 2012 with volumes of 2.5 to 5 gallons. My summers and falls are very busy, so I rarely brew then. Hoping to make more beer in 2013! Perhaps some wine in the fall too.
"All I know is that the beer is good and people clamor for it. OK, it's free and that has something to do with it."
