Blanche recipe anyone.

Post #1 made 13 years ago
I want to brew a Witbier (Blanche). I had a couple in Paris last summer and as it was to my liking it was added to the list. Summers around the corner so I want to get this brew on and bottle it ready for the glorious British summer.    ok I lied about the glorious bit..

Any one got a good recipe they would like to share ?

:peace:

Hi Yeasty
Uhhhh. Hmmm. Great Heffeweizen Recipe right here!!!!  . Opened my first bottle (bottled on 18 March!) today in the sweltering Scottish spring weather and it was stunning - can't wait to taste it in a week from now!

Added Carapils (4%) to the recipe (48%/48%/4%). Also did a Hochkurz (basically copied your times & temps).
Hops Minutes IBU
Hallertau 75 mins 11
Saaz 30 mins 3

Used Breferm Blanche yeast - 2 weeks at 18C. Still stank to high heaven on bottling day but there was only the slightest hint of the sulphur today. Will brew this again, maybe with other yeast just to take note of the taste differences, but I am more than happy with the clean & crisp taste of this brew.

Oh - keep your eyes peeled. I'm sure PP will flood this topic with a whole raft of recipes. He's apparently ready to come out of the wheat closet :kisswink:

Ha Ha very funny   I'd actually forgot about that brew, :idiot: It wasn't bad from what I remember then again I don't think it was great either. i think my yeast selection was wrong, I might try it again with Breferm Blanche.

Not this time though as I'm looking to go more Belgium or French (biere blanche).

Finally got around to it today, used my previous recipe as pointed out by Berty :headhit: along with deebos suggestions and the recipe guidelines in his link. I'll post the recipe once I've remembered what I've done and written it up.
