I haven't had a chance to use the new beerbelly burner yet. Would the original setup be ok for a single batch in a 71 litre pot? Where did you get your adjustable regulator from? I might have to keep it in mind for bigger batches later on if I get more thirsty...

I had my 80 litre pot with a single batch boiling reasonably well, it was on pretty much flat out tho. I think if I adjusted the air intake it would've burnt better as the flame was a little orangey and sooty.
I use a medium adjustable even for single batches now, it's just easier and quicker.
I got mine from beer belly.

Beers, need more info on pot and batch size etc.

A 3 ring burner may do the job but without more info it's a hard question to answer.

Beers, I'm using a converted 50 litre keg and a 4 ring burner is ample for this sized pot.

For a 35 litre pot a 3 ring burner may be enough. A rambo or Italian spiral my be even better. I guess a lot of it will come down to personal choice.

Hi there beer4,

I reckon that a 50L kettle will serve you better. There's very little price difference between pot sizes and 35 L is really a bit too small.

On the burner side of things, I have a 3 ring and an Italian Spiral burner. Both are similiar in performance and easily boil double batches I do in a 70L pot. However, I had to make a stand for my three-ring to get it at the hot point of the flame and use an adjustable regulator so an Italian spiral may end up being cheaper when you consider these two things.

hashie doesn't need an adjustable regulator or stand for his 4 ring burner so that could be a better solution again! (We'll have to do some time trials :P).

Thank you PistolPatch and Hasie, I am thinking about equipment, at the moment I am a extract brewer with grains, and I want to take the next step, thanks for the information guys.
