80lts pots not really 80litres

Post #1 made 12 years ago
Hi all,
I got my new pots today, and got them down to the shed give them a quick clean and thought id play around with the calculator to prepare for my first double batch.
So out with the tape measure and punch in the data and the calculator says 60 ltres :dunno:

So long story short what rhe box says aint true

Unless im wrong 44cm diameter x 40cm doesnt make 80ltrs

When I saw your thread title, I automatically thought, "He's put the dimensions into the BIABacus and found his pot actually holds more than 80 litres!"

Some pots marketed as x amount of litres often hold more than advertised, as they are, in catering, often selling the volume that can be reasonably cooked in the pot - eg the volume based on handle height.

But.... Brendan they have definitely delivered you the wrong item or they are ripping you off.

Formula for the volume of a cylinder is V = pi x radius x radius x height.

i.e. 3.14 x 22 x 22 x 40 = 60.8 L

This can be checked here.

Let us know if they just made an innocent error Brendan or whether we should avoid them. Hope all turns out well.

:luck:
