Cheap pot in Oz

Post #1 made 15 years ago
For any Australian brewers looking for a cheap pot to get into BIAB, Ray's Outdoors have a crab cooker on page 7 of their catalogue. It is 40 litre aluminium pot with a lid and aluminium basket for $89. This would be big enough to do standard 23 litre batches.

No affiliation, just trying to help.

hashie.

You know friend that whenever I see your monicker I think of hashish!
It is believed that hashish originated in West Asia, where the cannabis plant was widely available
This post is labeled "Cheap POT in OZ"! I have just understood your joke! Sorry, I am not really that quick sometimes! If I am right the next time I am in the land of OZ. I know where I can go to score some cannabis!

Good on you Bob, you got my morning off to a great start, with a good laugh :)

I didn't notice the euphemism(?) until you pointed it out.

If you are ever in Oz, I'll do my best to see you hooked up with a good brew and a joint to share ;)

I have bought a New Commercial 71 litre Stainless Steel pot which arrived today from Handy Imports on Ebay for $169 and $25 for postage. They also sell 12,17,21,25,36, 50 & 98 Litre pots aswell. In my local homebrew shop they were selling a 23L for about the same price! I can't wait to start...

The movie is still in the works. I am very disappointed in myself for not getting it done by now! Normally I love to do that type of thing. I did some prep work but I kept putting it off for various reasons. I had brewed like crazy this spring and I had all eight of my corny kegs full of beer! Even I could not drink that much. (I was comatose for part of the Summer)!!!

I did manage to bottle two beers for a local competition. I hate bottling beer! I did well enough to win two bronze medals. I also brewed a gluten free beer for some family that wanted it. I used buckwheat and I had to sprout "Quinoa", was that an ordeal! It came out all right. Here is the recipe I used http://blog.highgravitybrew.com/2011/03 ... free-beer/

Next week I will be giving two BIAB demonstrations at a new brewery opening. A brew club member is opening a NEW Pub, Brewpub and homebrew supply store! I did the website for his first little brewery and I am working on a website for the big one. http://www.osobrewing.com/Home.php They are going from 350 barrels per year to 5,000!

Halloween is near when I will be doing the BIAB demonstrations. It is also "Learn to brew day" So we are combining the two events. The brew club will be wearing costumes while brewing! I will uphold the dignity of the BIAB group by only wearing a dead buzzard hat (and clothes)! Let the 3V fools wear bumble bee, chicken and bloody roo's costumes! Those brewers have no class!

I haven't brewed in months because of the overabundance of beer but I am down to 3 kegs so this week I will resume my life as a member of the brewing community! Sorry for the rambling. I owed you some explanation for my tardiness.

Great reply Bob, sounds like you have a busy calendar ahead of you. A buzzard hat would work well with extreme brewing in the desert, but a brew demo for Halloween will have to do. I look forward to seeing some pics :)

Good to have you back Bob.
