Recipe calculator

Here is a batch calculator I made when I first joined BIAB. The goal was to make a spreadsheet that I could use to design different beers. The first page can be used to calculate SG after boil and color or the wort. I also included a dilution schedule, because I am doing maxiBIAB with a 19L pot. After I finish mashing I measure the volume of my wort and plug it into the top left corner. This cell is used by many other cells in sheet.

The next page is all about the hops. Its designed to figure out the IBU for the end of the boil and after the dilution. Its based off of the after mash volume from the first page. I decided to have use the gravity at the end of the boil, to do the IBU calculations. I'd rather over estimate my IBU than under, because I tend to like a more hoppy beer anyways.

Next the yeast page is there so I can figure out what yeast to use, the temperature range, and finally the ABV. Its more there so I can remember what yeast to use than anything else haha.

Finally the water profile page. I made this because I use RO water to brew. My town has terrible tap water. It is incredibly hard and does not taste good. Going to the grocery store, I can get 10 gal of RO water for 3 dollars. RO removes pretty much everything, so I have to add salts back in. The other advantage of this is I can match my water profile to my beer. I want to improve this part of the excel to include ideal SRM for the water profile as well as a few ratios that effect taste.

Any feedback I can get would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone wants to start using this, feel free. I've attached a blank copy as well as one that is filled out. The stout turned out pretty well, especially the half that I cold steeped with coffee.

Congratulations CS

It would be great to see a lot of what you have done added as advanced pages of The Calculator. Same goes for stux's sheet here.

I was thinking it might be good if Cell B13 on the hops sheet was changed so that instead of the divided by 19 bit, you could maybe have two sections, theoretical and actual, and have these figures derive from the first sheet. Hope that makes sense?

Good on you!
