Hello to all.
I first want to say what an amazing forum this is.
I am new to all grain, having spent 3 years brewing some wonderful extract ales, and many many sore heads!
I have an electric 5 gallon kettle which (if I'm right and please correct if not) should give me 2.5 - 3 gallon final volume.
The reason is i want to make and try lots and lots of recipes, I'm looking to learn quick and play around so smaller batches would suit these needs.
I'm asking for any advise on recipes that you know work, taste great, or that are just fun to do.
All help/advise greatly received.
Thank you for reading.
Jason.

Are you up to using our BIABacus? Here is the standard recipe we refer everyone to; http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php ... 869#p25993

1. What MS said.
2. Check out the Clear Brewing Terminology, required reading IMO.
3. Check out, purchase Brewing Classic Styles and see our thread on how to convert them into the BIABicus. An endless source of recipes and inspiration.
4. Use what you know about fermentation from all those extract batches to make your BIAB batches shine
5. Stay active on this forum. Invaluable knowledge here.
And really don't sweat the small stuff with BIAB at first. You'll make great beer. Just keep your eyes open and document everything and you'll be an expert BIABer in no time.

Right then lads, I've downloaded and updated the BiaBacus. Very nifty ss you've got there by the way.
I'm taking your advise and going with the one recommended for my first batch. Supplies are ordered and awaiting pick up the weekend.
I've already sourced a few other recipes to try including a speckled hen & zombie dust clones.
I will post my brew day documentation in the relevant section.
Thank you both for the great start, better brews here i come!

A ZD BIABacus file or two is on this site somewhere, it's fantastic.

Jason, don't hesitate to post your file up if you want us to check it and point out the very few things you'll need to focus on. If you reckon you have it all under control then all the best for your maiden AG voyage.

Welcome Jason. You will find the suggestions here invaluable. I recently finished my first all grain and BIAB, with help from the members of this forum including PistolPatch and MadScientist, and the brew was easy, by the numbers, and perfect (thanks to the suggestions).
