Positive feedback

Hello, I am new to brewing, started at the beginning of the year with a one gallon kit from Northern Brewer, courtesy of my wife. Instantly fell in love with brewing but had one problem. I move every 3-6 months for work and everything, including my wife's stuff, has to fit into a Hyundai Santa Fe. I was really bummed bc I wanted to jump into AG brewing. Luckily I found this site and gave BIAB a try. I make small 1.5 to 2 gallon batches on the stove. I am on batch # 7 right now. Took your advice and got Jamil and Palmer's Classic recipes book and used that with the Biabacus and have been making good beer ( I think ). I haven't gotten into the real technical stuff yet but I am making beer I am not ashamed to drink. Kudos to the man/men behind the curtain!!  :drink: . Also, I tried to donate a small amount and the link said I couldn't bc the person wasn't able to accept anymore donations. I can't afford much but definitely want to give you guys something for all the work you have been doing so let me know what I can do. Couldn't be happier with the results although my wife probably wants to strangle me  . Just thought you guys could use some words of encouragement.

Thanks Monkey for taking the time to post the above. That's great to hear all is going well for you.

Thanks also for the heads up on the donate button. I spent about 25 minutes on the phone to Paypal about 6 weeks ago and they said they would fix it straight away. Obviously they haven't. I'll post back here when I know it is working.

Donations are a very rare event and they or a post like yours are greatly appreciated. The work we have taken on here has turned out to be a lot harder and years more time-consuming than we thought. A lot of days and weeks have been taken off paid work and, of course, many hours of leisure time have been spent here on coming up with a new structure that, once in place, should make things much easier for everyone. We are getting pretty close to the end of achieving this goal but I must say that we find it incredibly tiring now. Encouragement like yours makes a big difference Monkey.

All the best :peace:,
Pat

Monkey, glad and impressed to see you have got up and running so well with absolutely no one on one help. Good on you .

Here's one tip for you on Brewing Classic Styles that has only come to my attention in the last few weeks and I haven't worked out how to explain it well yet. I also need to brew a few more recipes to be sure of my thinking but for now...

I think the hop bill in the BCS is fine if you are doing extract but when you choose the all-grain option (as we do in BIAB) I think the recipes are coming in under-hopped. This will be less noticeable, possibly even unimportant, in less hoppy styles but could be quite serious in an IPA etc.

After reading your post here, I thought I better write some more info on this. Have just done so here.

Cheers MonkeyMan,
PP

Don't expect to hear from Pat on this for another week at least. PayPal in Australia can be a bureaucratic nightmare if you use a Donate button.

If you have found the above or anything else of value on BIABrewer.info, consider supporting us by getting some BIPs!

PayPal is now restored after submitting a lot of forms and, just in case, Simon has replaced the Donate button with the Buy Now one. Click it to make a donation or buy nothing :).

When we get the major jobs out of the way here, we will try and find ways where we can thank those who do support the site with their time and/or financial contributions.

Please note that over the next few days, we will be changing some of the site structure. There may be long periods of time where certain topics or forums go missing or seem to be in the wrong place. This will be temporary.

Thanks again :salute:,
Pat
