first proper post, woo hoo. okay, i know it's not that exciting
i am pretty much holed up in an apartment so my BIAB style (about to do my first one) is on stovetop - one of those glass plate electric stove tops. i want to buy a 36ish litre stock pot so i can hope to get about 19 litres to ferment after mashing/boiling.
are there any other heating devices i can get to add to the stovetop to boost it? i'm scared my crabby top won't be powerful enough to keep a decent rolling boil. i've heard about immersion heater elements, but are they powerful enough - so, with both of them together?
any other suggestions are welcome because i'm happy to do miniBIAB but i know i'll get psyched and want to do larger eventually. additionally, i have a balcony that i could use, if there's some sort of device out there. kind of trying to steer away from gas though, being in an apartment.
sorry for the rant! psyched to chat with you guys. getting very addicted to brewing. winning
