In my ingredients box I currently have 400g of crystal malt, 25g fuggles, 70g northern brewer and 65g challenger hops. I know I'll need some pale malt and yeast but what suggestions have others for this 'mish-mash' (ooh I gave it a name!)
I brew using a 25L electrim bolier/mash tun and do a kind of maxi style to get 23L

That would make a nice APA.
Get whatever amount of Pale Malt you need to make your batch size (4.5kg?), add the crystal and mash.
I'd use the Northern Brewer at 60 minutes, challenger at 45-30 minutes and Fuggles to finish at 5-0 minutes.
You wouldn't use all of those hops unless you were after a hop monster, which wouldn't be so bad
Let us know how you get on.

No, I always go 90 minute boil, but prefer a 60 minute addition. This gives the boil plenty of time to get rid of any nasties before the hops are added. Is there any benefit? I dunno

Ok well thanks again. Will purchase 5kg of MOPA and some yeast (SO5) for less that £9 which should give me about 40 pints for under 23p a pint. Really looking forward to making 'mish-mash' APA

Bottled today and decided to change the name to Harvey APA, in honour of my Golden/Fox Red labrador who to be fair is a bit mixed up.
Final recipe was:
4.5 kg Maris Otter
400g Crystal Malt
90 minute mash 68-66c
90 minute boil
30g Northern Brewer 60 mins
20g Challenger 35 mins
protofloc 15 mins
15g Fuggles 5 mins
Yeast used SO5
This gave me 23l into the FV at an OG of 1.042, which in turn fermented out to 1.010 in 8 days for an ABV of 4.1%.
Preliminary tasting from the siphon tube makes me very optimistic for Harvey APA, which is good as 12 bottles have been put aside for Xmas presents.

I didn't notice because I was busy watching the Milwaukee Brewers in the baseball playoffs. The Big Ten champion Wisconsin Badgers, and the undefeated Super bowl champion "Green Bay Packers" It's a great time to be a sports nut in my home state of Wisconsin! That's how I finished off 5 kegs of beer this Fall! I am down to only 3 kegs! Time to brew again!_________________

Watch a bit of NFL (adopted Pittsburgh 20 years ago, never been sure why,) and NBA (detroit pistons, even weirder I know,) but never have understood the baseball thing but hey I'm mad on cricket and even madder on rugby and my Northampton Saints. It will make you jealous to learn on matchday I drink in a pub with 4 local real ales on hand pumps and we can buy real ale (London Pride,) in the Stadium, also hand pulled.

It's rugby where the real ale is lads. However days out at the cricket is all about beer with your mates too. Went to England v Sri Lanka twenty20 match at Bristol in June, Weston's cider in the stadium (my favourite apple juice,) and the beer snakes (sections of the ground competing to build the highest stack of pint glasses (they were plastic)) were hilarious. It's cultural though isn't it? You like your baseball, we like our cricket but hey we have beer in common.

Looks good Rich....you need to practice your pouring technique
mind you by the time you've finished drinking this batch you'll pretty good at pouring from a bottle....

I did some wheat beer and slightly overcarbonated, I poured the first one into a pint glass with an etched bottom designed to keep a head on the beer, it was like a volcano, spewing foam for ages. I had to pour it into a plain glass in the end ..frigging nightmare

Yes cheers stux I have vented all the grolsch bottles, for some reason the crown caps are far less lively. Probably because crown cap bottles are 500ml and Grolsch are 440ml, I used 1/2 tsp of sugar in each. Anyway as a precaution I have decided to leave in FV for two weeks from now on even if the hydrometer says it's done.

You need to look into bulk priming 
Basically, prime in bulk which means every bottle gets the right dose of priming sugar
