And welcome to you as well Shumanfoo, sorry we almost missed you there! I also employ my little ones, they love milling grain (mostly cause they like eating it). My oldest (5) also likes to add the hops :) Anyway, as above grab biabacus and ask questions if you have them. Happy Brewing!

Hello everybody. My name is Rafal, born in Poland for last 8 years live and work in Ireland.
So fare website looks very helpfully and easy. Hope will find more picture store or even links to brew day movie, still looking for it.
I've started brewing this year, before I made only home wine and mead. For now I'm after 6 or 7 brew kits, one extract with self hoping and
two full grain mash kits.
Both full grain brewing was BIAB in Peco boiler and so fare is going well.
Happy brewing All.

Hi all,

I'm new on this forum, so I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Teun, I'm from the Netherlands and brewing for 2 years. I just finished my new 'installation', a sort of Brew in a Basket method. So far just 1 brew with this installation but I'm very happy with it!

Cheers,
Teun (TDP)

Hi I'm Rob from North Wales (London originally)

Currently just brew kit but looking at BIAB for the near future when I finally get my brew shack sorted, in the old dairy bottling shed.

So far I've done 6 or 7 kits, and have liked the results so looking forward to being able to create my own (eventually).

Teun and Rob, welcome to the forum!

I've been brewing recipes out of the Brewing Classic Styles book with BIAB. Great book, with great easily scaled recipes, and for me the BIAB process has been great. Don't forget to download and use the BIABacus software too. Very helpful!

If there are any questions and need help...feel free to ask.

Again, welcome to the forum and I wish you success!

Hi from London, great site, I've brewed 3 kits and have just done my first BIAB a bitter recipe which has been in the Fv for 7 days. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from here.

Greetings all,

This is my first post. We live in Nebraska, USA. I have been brewing for several years but just started BIAB. My wife has become my brewing partner with BIAB. Brewing is so much better with a brewing partner.
We have a couple of BIAB batches done. We are currently focusing on the Stout and Saison styles. We have struggled with hitting target gravity and volume. Used BIABacus for the first time yesterday on a Rye Saison. It took a lot of the guess work out of the process. Hit the targets.

Regards,
DennisU

London and DennisU, welcome to the blog!

I am no where near an expert on this (others on the site really are...), but can attest that the BIABacus is a big help in getting more predictable and good results.

Hi All. My name is Mark, I'm in Adelaide. I'm a software developer and work from home with my partner, four kids and a black lab. I've been brewing for about 6 months, went from kits and bits and then to extract. I've got about 10 brews under my belt and want to move to all grain BIAB. I've been brewing 12L batches which is a good size for the inside gas cooktop and the 19L pot I have. It also means that I can have a variety of beer on hand as I like to switch things up on the weekends!

BIAB seems like the logical next step for me, probably going to start with a simple SMASH pale ale. Looking forward to learning a lot here!

Hello,

This my first post. I am a relatively new home brewer from Minnesota, USA. I have only done extract batches so far, but I wanted to get into all-grain brewing and thought that brew in a bag would work well for the setup I have. So far I have gotten a lot of good information from the site and I will continue to return as I start doing brew in a bag batches.

Thanks,
zkarsky

Hi I am new here so I would like to introduce myself. I am Denny from Prague, Czech republic, you can buy decent lagers (and extremely cheap) here but with other styles it's complete disaster. So I started brewing about six months ago. Due to the lack of space I tried biab and totally love it. I now use fully automated kettle and think about replacing my bag with the basket.

Thx for the warm welcome! I normally use the same recipes as HERMS or other brewers use, but I will look for this book (and the software). Still using the Dutch written software, works also fine for me!

Hey all, new to the site. I have been brewing about 5 years now, always all grain after my first mr beer kit. I am consolidating all of my equipment, and moving my brewing to my basement. I am installing the necessary equipment to brew using a 220v hot plate and BIAB. I'll have a good setup as well as utilize my sump pump for drainage. I'm really excited to simplify brewing as well. To have all of my equipment in the same spot I will actually use it is going to be mind blowing. No more 3 hour setup and cleaning added to my brewing. Also, fermenter and lever stir are downy there too. When I get going I'll be sure to chronicle everything.

Hi Teun (TDP),

This software is free, and available from this site for free download. It is really nice!

The book Brewing Classic Styles (BCS for short) is a pretty famous homebrew book. John Palmer and Jamil Zainascheff. Not sure if it has been translated to Dutch. Highly recommended!!!

Hi
Just joined up and having brewed a large number of Extract Beers of all types I am now looking to BIAB to improve the quality. Tried steeping various grains bur cannot get that unique grain flavour that I'm searching for.
What size Urn would everyone recommend and why as I'm struggling to determine the best way to go. All extract brews were 20-23 litres in volume.
Thanks in anticipation
Cheers

Hi,
Am from Sydney and only did a few extract brews before putting together a BIAB kit to get into it properly. Have done 1 brew on it so far. Usual batch size will be 10L as it keeps the styles ticking over. Looking forward to learning a lot from here.

Hi Brewers,

First Post! Im from Melbourne Australia, came across the site in my wanderings of Google one night looking for some info on BIAB tips and techniques.
This site looks like it will be a fantastic go to for some valuable info from all types of people and brewers. My mate and I have only just started our first BIAB but have conducted some kit beers in the past.
Cant wait to get a few under the belt (pun intended).

Cheers
Beman
