Hi there. Here is my first post.
I am from Hartbeespoort in South Africa and I came across your site after listening to the podcast from Beersmith. I find this site incredibly informative and look forward to posting more info as well as learning from you guys as I am only on my second ME brew and want to start with BIAB with my next batch and have bought all the essentials for it. So, between the challenge of family life and my work in the city as an Architect, I spend as much time learning about brewing. This site is a " one stop shop" for me since I have decided to go the BIAB route.
Thanks guys

New to this forum and a beginner at home brewing.
Looking forward to exploring this forum.
I'm from Kumla, a small town in southern Sweden
I found this forum on a Swedish website.
I've only brewed two batches so far. Started with an extract and next became a Biab.
Glad to find on this forum!

Hello all, extract brewer for a little over a year. Your site was mentioned from Home Brew Talk ( http://www.homebrewtalk.com/ ). Looking forward to my first attempt at BIAB. I still have lots of reading to do with the amount of info that's on this site.

Hi There!
I'm from Newcastle, Australia. I don't recall how I stumbled upon this site originally, I suspect it was following a Google search for more info on this BIAB caper. That was some time ago and the timing is finally right to give this method of brewing a try - I've had a couple of successful Kit and Kilo brews and wanted to jump in to an all-grain scenario. I've been impressed with the wealth of information on this site, as well as the positive culture that seems to go along with it. I've got a full-time job and a new toddler running around, but a man has to have his hobbies, right?
Anyways, that's me in a nutshell, hoping to have a crack at an amber ale.
Tom.

Welocome abaoard Tom and Cliv0,
Yep, the culture here is the best Tom. Lap it up!
Clic0, I couldn't quite understand where you say you haven't hit double figures. Not sure if that means you haven't done many brews or if you are having trouble with them. Either way, soneone will get you sorted.

Hello Biabrewers,
I'm English, but live in Vienna, Austria (AusTRIA, not Oz!). And started to brew because I missed ale, basically. It's all lager here.
I've been brewing for about a year and a half, and have been happy with my low gravity MAXIBiab brews (well, MAXIBiab, but without sparging).
My philosophy has been to keep things as quick and simple as possible, but while trying to ferment as well as possible.
So I've utilised a small spare fridge as my fermentation chamber. I use a simple off-the-shelf temp controller, with the probe attached to the fermenter (covered with a jiffy bag for insulation).
I only have 33cm head room in the fridge (because of the freezer compartment). So I can't fit any standard fermenter in there. I use a water canister (Aquatainer) as my fermenter. I actually use it for my no-chill container too. So I transfer the hot wort into my canister (cube), and then pitch the yeast straight into it once it's at the right temperature. I put the whole contents of the kettle in, trub and all.
Have been using almost exclusively Safale S-04 (always rehyrated), and bottle conditioning. I repitched from slurry once, which worked nicely.
I've barely got time to brew, so I've decided not to try liquid yeasts and starters... yet.
I've been cube hopping, and I reckon that the advice to treat them as a 15 minute edition is pretty good. I haven't been getting strong flower-like aroma (from EKG), but lots of flavour, I think. But I'm still working out what ingredients contribute what flavour to a beer.
Oh, and I recently realised that my biab bag was 20% cotton (the wrong IKEA curtain!). I got the 100% polyester one recently, and it made things much easier, drained much quicker. Just used a square of material and tied it in a knot when I took the bag out.
Cheers!

Hi everyone!
I'm from Texas in the USA, work as an ophthalmology resident (hence the username), and love homebrewing.
I've been brewing about 1.5 years now, started with extract for 3-4 batches, then built a mash tun from a cooler like a lot of people. Came across BIAB about 6 months ago, and my poor mash tun is collecting dust in the garage
I found this site from an interview recently on BasicBrewingRadio, great interview and great site to boot!
Favorite styles to brew include stouts and saisons, usually can't help but do something weird with half of my batch
Really looking forward to uncovering all this site has to offer.
Cheers from Texas!

Hi all!
I've been all grain brewing (both BIAB and more traditional methods) for about a year now, racking up some 15 brews of many styles. Most of these are done during holidays as I am a PhD candidate here in Memphis, TN, land of BBQ and Elvis.
I found this site through a Basic Brewing podcast. There is so much information I hope to to improve my brewing skills and maybe move to an electric system some day rather than my outdoor propane burner. I'm not looking forward to the 100+ (37+) temps and high humidity that are right around the corner.

Hi,
New brewer from Los Angeles, CA.
Have brewed about 8 batches, all grain, 1 gallon batches. Most were just OK due to an off flavor (thinking I have it narrowed down to bad water, but it was bottled from grocery store - spring water - so not sure if my adding campden tabs to last batch will fix the off flavor…).
Starting with small, 1 gallon batches due to space. Interested in everything biab, and looking to try interesting small batches - sours, wild ales, in addition to pale ales, IPAs, wheat, etc.
Any info on small batches would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Very nice to meet you PP and BB.
Bob, I re-listened to your hop experiment basic brewing podcast recently. Do you have any exprience with hopping in the cube at transfer (while wort is still hot)?
And have you stopped storing no chilled wort for long periods, now that chris colby recommends not to?
I no chill, but have always pitched straight away as i cant wait to taste the beer, but had thought about storing.

Hello gents, I'm in central Texas and I've been brewing for several years now. Up until now I've pretty much stuck to a miniaturized BIAB partial mash + extracts but I'm looking to step up to all-grain all-the-time. There seems to be a wealth of good knowledge here and I'm looking to absorb all that I can

wanders,
Welcome to the forum. Everything is bigger in Texas. BIAB is growing bigger each and every day too! The only thing small about BIAB is the initial set up price and space required!
