Gidday,
I'm currently living just north of Auckland, NZ but have spent the last two years in Melbourne, Aus. I started brewing in Aus from extract kits and was achieving some quite pleasant results. In fact all the beer last Christmas was homebrew only. Having returned to NZ I decided it was time to start on all-grain and had read a little bit previously about BIAB and thought it looked like the way ahead. I am on tank water from rain collection which I think has caused issues with my first attempt since moving. As I was looking for a information on brewing water I stumbled across this site and became quite excited. I'm really looking forward to becoming an educated brewer rather than the haphazard "she'll be right" brewer that I currently am.

Hello! So far all my experience homebrewing has been with extract kits only. I like the idea of not buying kits anymore and am interested to see how the quality from full volume wort boils compares to what I've produced so far with extract/dilution. Looking to do my first BIAB brew this weekend!

Welcome tankmech, Barrdelli, Digital.
BIAB has been growing leaps and bounds. Good beer at a lower price and less work! Nothing wrong with that

Hello hello, I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and am fairly new to brewing in general and am just gearing up for my first BIAB. I've brewed a few extracts but thought it could taste better so here I am. I heard about the site on homebrewtalk.com and it seems great...I'm really excited to brew some beer and hopefully my wife will think all the new equipment arriving in the mail has been worth it!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hello All,
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and have been brewing only for a few months. I have recently jumped to all grain and have embraced the BIAB method (small baches) as I brew in a kitchen in a small condo. First couple of batches were ok but I think I can do better. I'm hoping to wrap my head around BIABacus to help improve my technique. Regardless, this new hobby is strangely addictive and, most importantly, lots of fun.

Hello All,
I am from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and am relatively new to brewing (~6months). I have recently started all grain brewing and have embraced the BIAB method due to its low cost and potentially high quality beers. I am brewing mostly small batches as I brew mainly in my kitchen in my condo, which the BIAB method fits perfectly. I have brewed a few BIAB batches and they were ok, but I think I can do better. Looking forward to learning BIABacus and really honing my skills. Loving this new hobby and learning with each brew!
Cheers,
Chris

Hi everyone! I'm in Pennsylvania. I'm relatively new to brewing and will be starting my first biab in about a week - moving away from extracts for some more fun and learning. 10g kettle with gas burner has gotten me this far and I'm looking forward to some great brews ahead.

Good Day!
I'm located in the central valley of California. Been brewing small batches on and off for a few years, partial mash mostly, have looked at some of the more complicated all grain brewing rigs and decided to give BIAB a try. Have done one BIAB batch that turned out well.
Still working so can only brew in the evening or on weekends.
I've read through some of the postings and like the organization of the site. Looking forward to learning more about BIAB
Thanks
Joe

1. Where are you from?
UK
2. How did you stumble across the site?
Google!
3. What you think of it so far?
Lots of useful information - but I've got a lot of questions!
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
Up till now I've done LME brews, both from kits and a couple of unhopped recipes where I've customised some elements. I've been doing that on and off for about 12 years. Most of my kit has been plastic, I'm now moving to SS all grain hence joining the forum!
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
Definitely work, mostly computer related.

Hi. I'm from western MA (Berkshire county) USA. I've been BIABing (about 30 batches) for a year and lurking on this site for most of that time. I found out about the site via an internet search. I do small 3 gallon batches using a homemade electric system (digital thermo controller, non-recirc). I just built a 3 keg keezer but still plan to bottle about half the time. I ferment in a 5 gallon keg and do CO2 transfers into a secondary and then carbing keg. Everything is working great but I always have more questions and look forward to contributing.

Gday all, this past few months has seen me have a crack at homebrew again for the first time in just over 20 years.
From the bad old days in Darwin in the heat, with 2+kg of sugar at 30 plus... not nice... to the cool pleasant hills of the Huon in Tassie, what a difference sensible temps make!
Have made 7 kits, kits & bits and extract brews so far and have just... this... very... minute unwrapped a brand new 48 litre urn and am running it through some calibration. Along with 2 extra fermenters this weekend is going to be a solid intro to BIAB.
Can't sleep!
1. Where are you from?
Darwin, now in Tassie.
2. How did you stumble across the site?
Been lurking at the usual suspects: AHB, Coopers, Oliver's site, and have been lead here eventually.
3. What you think of it so far?
So... much... input!
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
Steep learning curve since July from pure kits -> kits & bits -> extract and this weekend BIAB.
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
A ginger beer, of the civil variety
cheers!

Hi all!
I live in Pembrokeshire, Wales and have been brewing using extract and speciality grain method on the stove for approx 3 yrs. I was thinking of progressing to full grain and stumbled on BIAB method and really like the idea. I'm going to buy a boiler as I think this will make things easier and am keen to use an electric one as I feel this is safer. I've seen a brupaks 29 litre polypropylene. Is this suitable? Can anyone suggest alternatives? Is 29 litres big enough?
I use beer engine for recipes and have downloaded beer engine 2 for iPad but have not used it. Is there any better programmes/apps I should be looking into. Any basic advice on a first go at BIAB very gratefully accepted!!!
Many thanks all

Hi Guys
Just found the site after trawling the net for the easiest way to get into all grain. Didnt really fancy the idea of buying a load of new equipment.
I've a few extract brews under the belt and I thought it was time to move on to bigger and better things!
Loving the site some awesome info here!

Hello all,
I live in Las Vegas and have been brewing for about 18 months. I've moved from extract, to partial mash, and now I'm looking to explore BIAB. I am especially intrigued by BIAB in that it requires less equipment, results in a shorter brew day and apparently produces beer that rivals all grain three-tier systems.
I'm looking forward to gleaning as much information as I can from the experienced folks on this site.

Hello!
1. Where are you from?
UK
2. How did you stumble across the site?
Desperately searching for information on how to brew tasty beer on the stove top.
3. What you think of it so far?
Friendly and helpful feel to the place, strong contributions from board members. Impressive.
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
Have only ever previously used kits. Good fun but never tasted very exciting to me. Looking at BIAB as a way of having more control over what I'm brewing and having even more fun learning the process. Myself and a couple of friends are looking to collaborate - splitting equipment and ingredient costs and sharing the fruits of our labour!
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
I work full time.
Cheers.
