Hey all. I am a novice extract brewer from years ago and am looking into starting to home brew again. I have been reading up on BIAB and considering it for 2-3 years and this is a great site. I was chuckled at during my local brew club meetings, but BIAB and eBrewing is gaining steam!
I currently use an aluminum turkey fryer and propane to brew, but would like to get an eBIAB system going. I am looking for low cost, ease of use, 3-5 gallon batch 120v brewing and still have to decide on what to build. My friend is an electrical engineer who can set me up with elements, PIDs, SSrs and misc (hopefully an enclosure too).
You have some great ideas and posts. This is my favorite site. I look forward to getting to know all you hop heads!
Cheers,
Jason

Thank you, Josh. I've been through it several times!!
I was looking for a "Show me your eBIAB system" with pictures of everyones rigs. I couldn't find it. I thought it would be need to see a thread with what everyone is currently brewing on. I'd to start one if there is one yet. I really like to window shop
Cheers,
Jason

I live in Chicago and just recently started brewing. I have a couple extract brews under my belt and will make my first BIAB attempt this weekend. BIAB seems like a great method for an apartment dweller such as myself. I look forward to getting started here.

Good Day AverageAtBest, Welcome to the Forum. BIAB is the best, if only way, to brew in small places, with the least Equipment!
Look around the site, and if you have questions or comments, let us know!
Good luck with your brew this weekend, or tomorrow!! Let us know how you do!

Hi everyone. I'm also from Chicago and fairly new to brewing. I've been struggling with AG brewing as my stove only has 14 inch height clearance, so I'm looking to move to the porch and do it all in one pot. Everything I read says this is the place to be for the best biab discussion.

Hello, all.
I'm from northern Wisconsin in the US, and I've been brewing on the stove top using extract and specialty grains for about 4 years now. I also make wine and mead.
I found this forum by Googling BIAB after watching the BIAB episode of Northern Brewer's video blog. It sounded like a great way to get into all-grain brewing with a lesser initial cost.
I'm excited to learn more about this technique, and glad to have found this forum!

Good Day lrdgrifter, Welcome to the Site.
Since you do extract and specialty Grains, you very close to BIAB.
If your bag can fill the kettle, you will only need more grains and NO extract.
Look around the site and if you have questions, just post, and we can help!

Newbie here
I'm a programmer from Finland. I stumbled onto this site while researching BIAB, and so far it seems really awesome. Lots of great info! I've been brewing myself for a few months now, at the moment using kits. I'm planning my first toe-dipping into the world of all-grain and BIAB seems a great way to do it!

Good Day Trizza, Welcome to the Forum! BIAB is the best way to go All-Grain.
When you find how easy it is to do, you may find there is no other way to brew!

Hi everyone. I've recently begun homebrewing using extracts/partial boils. I picked up the hobby to get into experimenting with different recipes, but I have limited time so a traditional all-grain setup isn't possible for me at the moment. Also, I only drink a beer or two a day (and my wife can't drink), so I'd like to move away from the traditional 5-gallon kits to 2-3 gallon batches of brew.
When I heard about BIAB, I was excited to discover that there was a way to go all-grain without adding significant time or expense to the brewing process. It also seems like the perfect way to brew the mini-batches I'm looking for.

Hello,
I'm a new brewer in the Los Angeles, California area, just got my second extract batch in the fermenter. Like everyone else, I would like to do AG without messing around with Mash Tuns, Hot Liquor tanks, pumps, etc. I figure I'll spend the money saved on building a fermentation cooler. It does get hot here in the summer!

Wow! Our first Estonian! Good on you e-tom!
Rakk, very sensible thinking. There's a lot of guys here (like me) who started with traditional brewing and now soley BIAB. It's a bugger fermenting in a hot climate. My tap water here in summer is 28 C (82 F)! We probably need a thread here to discuss this issue. Give me a few days and I'm sure I'll dig up some old pics etc of how I first handled this problem.
Welcome aboard

Hello, pogden here from Phoenix, Arizona. I've been brewing for 15 years, but took a few years off after I sold my keezer and kegging gear to make room in the garage for a car. Brewed up a partial mash amber ale this past Christmas, and I'm BACK IN! I got here from HBT - have been reading up on full grain setups but am intrigued by the BIAB concept. I'm also a bit of a tinkerer, so while the simplicity of BIAB is appealing, I'll probably try building an electric single vessel rig to begin with.
This looks like a great forum - I'm looking forward to poking around.

Hi all, My first post here... I'm a new brewer with 1 extract kit batch, and 2 extract/partial mash batches under my belt, although I have yet to sample any of beer yet!! Started with an American Pale Ale kit, then a Lager partial mash, and lastly a Shock Top clone that was also a partial mash!! I've been thinking of moving to all grain brewing, but after finding out a little about the BIAB method, this seems like a perfect fit for me (at least for now)!!
