Hello, all
I am from Kelso, WA. I have been extract - mini-mash brewing for 8 years. I have wanted to learn / acquire the knowledge and equipment for all-grain brewing but have not taken the time. I am looking forward to my first BIAB.

Hi!
My name is Eirik, and I am a norwegian noob in brewing. I read about BIAB and was facinated of the simplicity of it. I have made two batches with BIAB, both turned out well but I have much to learn. And I am impressed by the knowledge on this forum.

1. Where are you from?
Born in Canada. Have lived all over Canada, US some parts of SEA as well. Currently living in Rio Rancho, near Albuquerque NM.
2. How did you stumble across the site?
Not 100% sure, but likely from another forum where I saw the acronym BIAB. I punched that into google, and viola!
3. What you think of it so far?
I like the set of rules guarding the value of the site as informational. Too many forums seem to be too lax on keeping the larger general population happy with information, and catering to the few "personalities" that flood a forum with useless banter at best, and create hostility at worst. A time and place seems to be the rule here and I like it.
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
I have brewed off and on for some time. Mostly off though. I have most recently started extract brewing again, but I knew already that I would be brewing with grains this time around.
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
I am a registered nurse. My household is run bicameral in nature, with my wife and our dog being the two governing bodies. I am the only subject of this household!

Hey All,
I'm from Melbourne. Been interested in brewing for a while and in the endless pursuit of more knowledge I came across this site. Love the site and all the info available.

I have brewed a few batches so far but am keen to move into AG.
I'm an IT desk monkey... gives me plenty of time to research my next recipe

Hello BIAB brewers!
This is my first post. My name is Shahar and I'm from Israel. I've Heard about this forum from Shibolet.
I am a new BIAB brewer - I brewed 3 batches of BIAB so far, after a year of brewing extracts. I've Experienced in making mead and many kinds of "fruit wines" such as apples (cider), cherry, pears (perry) and Passiflora, but my true love is beer - so here I am, looking forward to learn and make great all-grain beers.
Cheers!

Hi!
I am from Sweden and have been brewing mostly extract and some smaller stove top BIAB. Right now I am looking into either getting a 35 liter stove top kettle to run on my induction glass stove top. The other option is buying one of those German mulled wine cookers http://www.bielmeier-hausgeraete.com/en ... e-Machine/ with electric elements.
So, the question is if the stove top will crack if I put 25 kilos on it.
Anyway will brew a new small batch this weekend. Haven't made up my mind on what yet!

Welcome moosebeer,shahargealel and matti.
I hope you enjoy the forum and your BIABing
Moose: BIAB is a great way to get into AG. You'll be amazed at how easy it is.
shahargealel: Any friend of Shibs is a friend of ours.
matti: I started with a 50L pot ontop of my kitchen hob which is a 4 ring induction model. With 34l of water plus grain it was fine. Not saying yours will be ok as it may be alot different. Take it easy to start and build up to your max capacity. Water and electrics is a bad mix if things go wrong

Hi all,
I'm from Leeds in the UK and am preparing to embark on BIAB. I spotted a gap in the market following the recent closure of the Tetley Brewery in Leeds (after 200 years) and I hope to take up some of the lost capacity in my garden shed

Welcome Beanstain
Nice to see another UK brewer taking the BIAB route. Can I ask how long you have been brewing ? I'm just interested to know if we are getting any 3V guys looking to move to BIAB or if you are moving up from extracts. I nearly went down the 3V route until I found BIAB, its certainly makes the whole process easier.

Hello, I'm from Kansas City, MO, USA
After brewing a few extract kits and wanting to move on to partial mashes, I read several threads on BIAB on HomeBrewTalk which eventually led me here.
As an apartment brewer, it looks like BIABbrewer.info will be very helpful in the process I'll need to use in order to successfully brew partial mash or all grain batches.
I've been brewing for just a few months, just 3 extract kits so far, but I have two custom partial mash batch ingredients on the way.
I work for a publishing company helping out with websites for their magazines.

Greetings all
I have been kit brewing (on and off) for about 20 years, both here in New Zealand and back in Australia.
I want to take my brewing a step further and after a bit of 'googling' I found this site (after finding a retailer in NZ selling a BIAB kit). I wanted to find out more about this brew in a bag concept - it looks like what I'm after - want a better brew but not a lot of room etc.
Hope to learn more (does the temporary commentary pdf open up after this post? At the moment it says "I don't have the required permissions etc to download")
Cheers
p.s. Live at bottom South West of New Zealand and tinker with aeroplanes and helicopters for beer stamps.

Greetings,
My first post. I found this site via Google. I'm looking for a guide or tutorial for all grain BIAB using a no-sparge technique. I've brewed four batches of beer in my entire life from extracts with steeping grains, bottled one so far with ehh results (a Kolsch ale). A second Kolsch to be bottled today, a hefeweizen and a Berliner weisse fermenting in carboys. My first task for BIAB is how to determine what my grain bill is for a particular recipe.
I live in El Cerrito, California (near Berkeley), work for Kaiser Permanente (a non-profit HMO), and am definitely a noob to brewing. I brew outdoors because my kids hate the odor of boiling wort (they say it smells like rabbit sh*t) though I like it.
Regards,
Robert.

Evening! I'm from Western Mass and have done four brews so far, all with brew in bag. Looking to improve my technique and get some technical knowledge and perhaps lend some insights and thoughts.

Greetings all from the Missouri Ozarks. I have yet to brew my first batch, but have been doing lots of online research. The BIAB method has peaked my interest to get started. I only got started brewing this year, wine, overrun with blackberries, yum. My main interest for brewing is to have control of the ingredients. I have had bad reactions to some of the commercial beers. May be because of my gluten intolerance. Looking forward to learning and contributing to this board.

Hi - I'm a novice brewer from Canberra. I was looking to get straight into traditional all grain brewing but came across the biab method. which looks like a terrific way to get into real breweing without having to spend a fortune on gear. Looking forward to learning a lot. Cheers.
