g,day all,spog here from port lincoln s,aust.
i read some time ago about biab on the ahb site, bought some swiss voile put it my brew room and forgot about it untill i came across the beersmith site and listened to the interview with pat.
i have been toying with the idea of going all grain for a while, got a mountain of bits and pieces then heard the podcast.
biab sounds like a much simpler, less equipment and therefore cheaper way of brewing an all grain brew.
must break out the wifes sewing machine and put the swiss voile to use...(yep i do know how to use a sewing machine)...cheers...spog.........

Hi all,
I'm a Kiwi living in Sydneys inner west.
Found this place a while back through AHB and bookmarked it for future use, should I ever get into all-grain brewing.
Certainly seems like this site is bursting with helpful info and I'm quite happy to lurk-n-learn.
Up till now I have been brewing k+k and extract brews. Had some good results and learned a lot. Decided it was time to take the plunge, so after my 1st BIAB yesterday, here I am.
I work fulltime in an interesting job but sadly it is not beer related in any way :(

Hello,
I am from Perth, Western Australia. I currently work as a mechanic. A friend mentioned BIAB as a simple way of doing all grain brewing and I came across this site searching for information on the method. I think I will be able to learn much here to help me create my first all grain beer. Previously I have only brewed two batches of Coopers home brew concentrate, and was not satisfied with the results. I hope to start my first BIAB batch very soon!

From California but going to uni here in N. QLD. Started brewing a traditional 3 vessel setup 4 years ago but have been doing BIAB for the last 2. With BIAB and no chill brew days have never been easier.

Hi
I'm from New Zealand, (previously England) and I am keen to get into all grain brewing. I have purchased a couple of books on brewing and they seem quite complicated. I would like to know what equipment I would need to start brewing. I would rather do it away from the kitchen as I don't want the hassle indoors. Budget is not too much of a problem, I just want to drink a decent ale at the end of it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hello all. I am getting back into home brewing after a long absence. I live in the Ozark Mountains, in the state of Arkansas, in the USA. I have done kit brewing in the past, but plan to do full grain and BIAB for my next batch. This looks like a great way to brew your beer and logically should allow the production of good quality beers.
Thanks for all the help supplied on this site.

Hi guys, a helpful member of JIms brew forum recommend I register with you guys.
I have brewed about 8 beer kits and a couple of wine kit and am now getting prepared for my first all grain and BIAB as it looks like the best place to start. I am hoping someone will be able to help me scale a 3 vessel recipe to a BIAB method.
I have enjoyed chatting with the homebrewers at Jims forum and Im sure you guys are fun to. To be honest I am quite excited about this brew.
oh and I live in sunny Scotland.

Hi All,
My shiny new Crown Urn is sat in the garage waiting for its first brew!
Been doing kits for some time with grain and feel it may actually be easier to go BIAB.
Still lots of learning to do and looking forward to my first AG batch.
I live in the Blue Mountains and thanks to posts and advice I have some camping mat for insulation.
Hunting for a nice simple (but tasty) starting recipe....

Hi All,
I'm from Yorkshire the UK and am just about to start hobby brewing.
I only wanted to do it if I could do something with good results like you would get in a pub so I ended up thinking that all grain was the way forward.
Reading around the net I saw people mentioning BIAB more and more and after a slightly arrogant brew shop owner tried to put me off it saying "what do australians know about beer?" I decided that it was for me!
I have most of the kit I need to get started. A 19/20 litre stainless stock pot, some brew buckets, syphon tube, gravity meter, voile etc. This site seemed like the place to come for help with recipe scaling and learning about MAXI BIAB.
My father has recently retired and I thought that brewing would be a great hobby for him but first I need to convince him of the quality of home brewed beer nowadays! There is a local microbrewery who have agreed to let me have some of their yeast also, which is a big bonus as I understand it?
I trade index futures on my own account for a living from home so I quite often have a few minutes here and there where I hope to be able to keep an eye on the brews.
A neighbour also have me an angram hand pull beer engine and I intend to put my conditioned beer into 4 litre bottles and pull it through the engine for that nice smooth pub style I love!
Thanks for having me on your board, I look forward to picking all of your brains for hints, tips and help in the near future.

I'm Jim from Cleveland Ohio.
Ive done 10 extract kits and 2 all grain since February of 2009 with mediocre results.
I want to make brews where I get a WOW, this is GOOD! Instead of yeah, its not bad.
The BIAB method seems really simple since I'm recently disabled and cant move around so well. So needless to say, I don't work so I have a lot of free time to experiment and make a great beer.

Checking in from smAlbany, NY USA. Need to get my posting rights so you fellas don't think I'm a spammer. I assume that most people on this site will be from Australia since that is where BIAB was invented! Can't wait to try my first BIAB. How are you all doing?
My last brew:
Extract Irish Red. Still drinking it. Will be drinking it when I brew my next batch.
My next brew:
10 gallon AG, All wheat with BIAB. Getting the set up ready in the garage on Saturday. Pully to the ceiling and getting the new equipment (two new fermenting buckets solely for sanitizing and fermenting wheat beers so I can skim the krausen)...well until I score that 10 gallon ss conical). Happy brewing and enjoy your beer!

Im from Kent in the UK
2. How did you stumble across the site?
I came over from Jims Beer Kit as they recommended I come here to learn more about BIAB.
3. What you think of it so far?
Looks like a very sensibly set up forum that works hard to create a community. I hope a gain from the knowledge within it and contribute as much as I can.
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
I have done extract kits in the past but been disappointed by the results but love real ale and would love having a go producing some stuff that friends can enjoy and share with me
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
I work on a site for a small TV company and am based in central London.

Hi
I've been brewing kits for 4 months but already know I want to go down the all-grain route and BIAB seems the obvious choice. Currently getting together as much info a possible for before taking the plunge with brew 1. I'll be the one asking all the silly questions!!
Cheers
Kenny - Telford, UK

1. Currently living in the states in Greensboro, NC
2. Found out about BIAB while reading up on home brewing on homebrewtalk.com.
3. Its great to have so many resources available specifically geared toward BIAB.
4. I just bottled my second brew ever. Both so far have been extract. My next (a double chocolate stout) is my first foray into BIAB.
5. When I am not wasting time in my cube reading home brewing forums I work as a software developer.

Hello!
I'm glad I discovered BIABrewer.info, the holy grail of Brew-in-a-Bag. I appreciate the inclusiveness/exclusivity of BIABrewer as a whole. I'm on my second batch. Both brews have been extract w/ steeped grains.
I'm planning on doing an amber ale biab style next month.
Bring on the knowledge!

Hi all,
I live in Penrith, Sydneys west and haave been doing BIAB using a couple of different methods for about 4 years now. Currently use a 90l pot on a italian spiral burner and brew 40L batches.
Got onto this site from aussiehomebrewer and read pretty much everything Pistol had put together on there. Credit to him for lifting this brewing process off the ground. This looks like a great site, great for all levels.
I am self employed and pretty much brew around my work schedule.
Hoping to gain more knowledge on here and help out others if i can. Cheers

Hey, new here
I found this site through the Jim's beer kit forum
I'm in the UK and have done wine brewing for years (natural and fruit) just started my first kit and feel lured by AG brewing already. BIAB looks just the ticket!

Hi!
1. Where are you from? Norway
2. How did you stumble across the site? Don't remember, either via google or a link from another brewing site
3. What you think of it so far? Like it a lot, especially the maxi biab stuff, as I don't have much room
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using? Been brewing a couple of months, 4 batches extract+partial mash. Wanna go AG without the equipment taking up too much room at my home, that's why I'm trying BIAB
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household? Working as a computer technician.
Cheers

Hello everyone! I found this awesome site while doing a search on brew bag sizes and sewing them. Glad i stumbled on to it. I live in Ohio in the USA and have yet to brew my first batch. I have collected all my gear with the exception of my propane burner which is yet to be delivered. I have a few yards of Voile i need to sew and then will be somewhat ready to tackle BIAB. I decided the BIAB method makes a lot more sense to me than decoction for now as i have a limited know how of brewing in general. If i can get as good a result with BIAB as i have heard of them there would be no reason to throw more money into kettles/tun to further complicate the process and confuse myself even more. I look foward to scouring the pages of this site for the knowledge kept within passed on by the more skilled and experienced brewers. Thank you for the chance to get to know you. Outcomethewolf

New to brewing!!!
Have made wine for the past several years.
Getting into it because my son has brewed before and we will now be brewing together.
This looks and sounds alot easier than all of the other methods of brewing.
