Thanks for the welcome. I live in Glossop but work in central Manchester. Currently I've got one of the Richies bags but was thinking of just buying voile from one of the fabric suppliers in the city centre if needed.
Trying to read as much info here as I can and decide on a first recipe.

Hi all!
My name is Kevin and I'm from Ayr, Ontario. I currently cutting my teeth on festa brew kits and am looking to move to AG in the spring. I like the simplicity of BIAB and am also thinking of going no chill to keep things basic. Looking forward to learning from all the pros here and hope to share my learning experiences.

Hello, I am located in the US in the state of Alabama. I am currently an extract brewer and wine maker but am interested in moving to all grain. BIAB seems like the way to go and this site looks like a great resource!

My name is Jason and I am from Canberra. I found this site by searching for information on BIAB and so far I am very impressed with the amount of information on the site. I have been brewing for about 12 months now, just doing Kits with additional hops and steeping. I am about to move to extract brewing and then when I have all the equipment needed I will start BIAB. Can't wait to start making some great tasting beer.

:champ: HOORaY for me!

I've finally made the step up from Can'o'Goo!
For a while now I've been learning the ropes by way of KnK
but finally learnt enough to step up to All-Grain via BIAB.

This I'm certain, will make my beers taste a lot better than they currently do.
I actually first heard of BIAB on Basic Brewing Radio and then the AHB Forum.
Now I have arrived at the pearly gates...

I all seriousness, BIAB is an awesome idea that I feel is the next step towards
a bigger brew system. But that will depend on the Wife and $$$. :idiot:

Cheers to all for starters for setting such a wealth of knowledge. See you in the forums. :salute:

Greetings from the great state of Michigan..

I'm a long time home-brewer (22+ years), mostly extract but I've dabbled in all grain. In fact I'm in the last stages of completing my AG system. I've used Beersmith software and listen to Brad's Podcasts, that's how I stumbled upon BIAB...

What a great Idea, I plan on giving it a try on my next brew day (assuming I figure out the Bag part)...

I look forward to exploring the site more and hopefully find some new friends and inspiration.

I currently work it the automotive industry (doesn't everyone in the Detroit area???), I'm retired from the Army and my wife is my assistant brewer.

I formed a home-brew club with some friends last year, and we recently won "best home-brew club" at a local festival...not too bad.

Good day! My First post on this sight. I live on the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range, in the state of Washington(U.S.A.). Which happens to be near the Yakima Valley, famous for growing apples and home of some of the biggest hop farms in the world. I have been brewing for four years, starting with extract to partial mash and I have been allgrain (three vessel) brewing for the past two + years. Partial to the stouts and porters, but never turn down any ale. I have been wanting to go from five gallon to ten gallon brewing for a while and biab got my attention with it's relative simplicity and fewer equipment requirements. I'm currently looking for a 15 gallon SS keg to decommission and make into my boiler, and I will then find or have made a bag to work in the pot. Until then I hope to study this site and become familiar with soome of the forums. Wish me luck.

Hi everyone,

I am making the transition from extracts since I watched a BIAB demo at Grain & Grape in February 2011.

I have never been entirely happy with extracts and had never considered all grain before due to the (perceived) complexity and setup cost.

So devouring all of the information here and planning my first brew...

Cheers,

Nathan.

Hello!

My name is Ben and I live in Norfolk, VA.
I found the site while perusing the web and looking at moving up from extract brewing. Been brewing about a year and have gone from kitchen to the garage.
Currently between positions, but work in financial services.

Hi all,

From Sydney and have recently got back into brewing after scoring some kegs and fridge. After warming up with a few kits my first BIAB effort is in the fermenter now, looking forward to the taste test in a few weeks. Glad to have found this awesome fountain of knowledge. Great site!

Cheers.

Hi all,
I am from the far north coast of New South Wales, a little town called Yamba. I have been brewing for over 10 years as a kit brewer but moved to All grain around 4 years ago. I have been in the process of constructing a 3 vessel Herms brewery but BIAB has certainly caught my eye. This is a fantastic site with some knowledgeable brewers on the forum. Hope to talk to some of you soon.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi!

I'm from Norway (which may explain my English) and stumbled across this site when I was looking for general information about BIAB. Brewing this way is not that common in my country it seems, but I hope it will become in the future. I started up brewing with extracts and speciality-malt, but there was really no reason not to do all-grain when I discovered BIAB. I haven't done many BIAB-brews yet, so I hope I could use this forum and the knowledge here to learn how to actieve more consistent results with my brewing than I've so far managed to do. The site looks great in my opinion. Thanks for letting me become a member!

Thanks,
Audun

Hi My name is Matt and I live in the Inner West of Sydney. I have been doing some kit brewing with Hops and Steeping grain and would like to move on to all grain. I want to go BIAB due to space and resource constraints. I have been lurking on the AHB for a while, and as yet am still deciding whether I will start with the 19lt Big W pot or grab myself a 40lt Birko or one of those 48 litre cheap urns off ebay.

So still learning about all grain, trying to understand some of the concepts surrounding enzymes etc and then will make the jump.

I heard about the webite through the Beersmith Podcast which I had downloaded and was listening to on a quiet day at work.

Cheers

Matt.

My name is Jon.. I live in Northern Maine.

Been working on an electric brewery, but want to keep things simple, so instead of managing 3 pots and what seems like 20 miles of hosing, I really like the idea of one electric pot BIAB, so will be focused on that.

Cheers!

Hi all.
I'm from the NW of England and have been brewing on and off since 1989! Starting with kits and moved on a couple of years ago to all grain. What a difference! My only dislike is my 7hr brewday so when i heard an interview podcast (think it was Basic Brewing) I became interested in BIAB.
I have a 100ltr s/s pot (got it cheap) and use propane outdoors but do not have a large mashtun, therefore I am hoping to do double batches easily with this method.
Now I need to procure a bag from somewhere - I'd prefer to buy one ready made if these are any good.
Looking forward to trying this method
On Tap: Pale Ale
Fining: Bombay/Punk IPA
Next Brew: Munich Helles
Planned: Doppelbock

Hi All,

I am from Cape Town, South Africa and have just started brewing, I think I'm hooked! I have done 1 kit brew, a Coopers Draught and it all went smoothly and I am happily drinking some great beer. I am however very keen to start getting into grains and the BIAB method seems perfect for my situation as I live in a fairly small flat/apartment so space is limited!

Hoping to buy an electric urn soon. Will post in the electric BIAB forum for more details.

Looking forward to it!

Stefan

Hi,

New to brewing. Did my first extract batch on 1/1/11 and just bottled my third yesterday. I love brewing and can't wait to get more involved in the recipes than just buying kits. I came across BIAB on the brewsmith podcast that I have been listening to and wanted to learn more about it. Sounds like it is perfect for my budget and goals in brewing.

A big hello to everyone from a foggy Wakefield, West Yorkshire. So far, in the 5 months I've been brewing I've produced a couple of drinkable wines and a few coopers lager kits which weren't too bad, but theres just something missing, they don't quite hit the spot.

So it's time to take the next step, which has led me to here.

Something tells me this is going to be an interesting journey.

Cheers,
Richard.

Hi,

I'm from the UK and have been kit brewing for a few years, but fancy trying brewing from scratch. While stumbling round the internet looking for the best techniques I came across this forum. I'm looking forward to giving BIAB a go, once I've got the necessary large pan and bag together.

Hi All! I am a new brewer (January 1, 2011) and have 4 extract batches under my belt, along with my first AG BIAB this past weekend

I am from the state of Iowa in the US, and am really excited about brewing and the BIAB method. I got a lot of great info from this site prior to my first BIAB, and hope to gain a lot more knowledge to improve and refine my techniques.

Thanks for the site, and all the great info out here!

Cheers!

Glen
