Bob here...new to all forms of brewing. I've only 2 batches of extract to my credit. I'd like to get into all grain and BIAB seems a great way to start. BTW, I'm from Tennessee, USA. Looking forward to this community! :salute:

Greetings from Texas!

Looking around for more info on BIAB. I've done several extract kits, and about to move to do a mini mash when my new brew pot gets here. For me the space i have to store equipment has me looking at BIAB for my entry to all-grain.

Looking forward to learning more.

Hi, Now that i've properly registered before posting on here I'll reintroduce myself...

I'm a newbie homebrewer from London. I'm liking the whole BIAB method, though I've only done a couple of brews without really following the instructions. The beer has been great though.

I'm now very keen to do it properly and will no doubt be asking silly questions over the coming weeks. I apologies in advance...

Goat.

Hi guys
A cider man and kit beer maker of old now growing up and getting into AG brewing. Have read a lot and still dancing around my first Ag brew. BIAB seems the way to go, however I need a bit of advice
firstly what is the best first AG recipe for a Hop head like me with an expected 23 liter brew ?
Secondly I have been playing around with the brewmate software which looks real good. I cant seem to find a user guide so how should I configure it for BIAB?
I have set sparge water and spare dead space to 0.0 litres and set the strike water equal to the total water. this seems to set the sparge volume to zero which i think is correct.
This was a guess. What would you do as a starting point for all the settings.

All the best guys and this looks a good site.
ps hope you Ausies are getting through the storm ok.

MOD NOTE: Welcome to the forum paulapint. Sometimes questions get missed in this thread. If you ask your question above in this thread someone will sort you out pretty quickly. :luck:

Hi Paul and welcome.

I've not had a good look at BrewMate yet, but to set it to BIAB go to settings (top left) and then click on default settings in the new box. On the Recipe type drop down menu select BIAB.Save & Close!

Hey Eeverybody,

I am from Northern Wisconsin, USA; I am very new to brewing, I have three extract brews under my belt and a fourth ready to go once I get my chiller fully assembled. I have wanted to make the jump to AG, but I must admit I like the simplicity of extract brewing, but like most the allure of AG is pulling hard. AG, with all the extra equipment is a little out of my budget at this point and admittedly a little scary, I like the idea of BIAB and want to give it a shot.

I stumbled upon this site using google in hopes of gathering information. I am looking forward to spending hours researching, learning and picking your brains.

Thanks

Pat

Howdy. From Kansas, USA. I'm pretty sure I first heard about this site from the Brewing Network forum, but it may have been AHB. Have enjoyed reading the Master Guide, and found some illuminating threads already.

My very first homebrew is in the fermenter right now. Did an extract + specialty grain porter. Had a great time with it, and I'm itching to move to all grain. BIAB seems like a elegant, inexpensive way to make some great beer. So my next batch is going to be mini BIAB.

Eager to get started, glad to find folks with a shared interest.

Hey everybody! I'm a soon to be new brewer although I've been into wine and cider making for just over a year now. I live just south of the St. Louis area in Missouri, USA. I stumbled across this site after a google search for a BIAB site referenced in a Brew Strong podcast, this one might be it - not sure. Most of my brews will be in 4L jugs, mostly because I want to try for as much variety as I can, so I'll probably live in the Mini section for a while. I plan on alot of experimentation with hopping, yeast, and various adjuncts.

Good morning,
I'm extremely new to brewing, having only just made my first small extract batch in a store bought kit. I found the site through a link on my local home brewers email list here in Ottawa, Canada. I was told that this is a great way to start AG brewing. For me, when it comes to brewing, the journey is just as important as the destination. It may sound cheesy, but I didn't decide to give this a try just for cheap beer, I think the whole brewing process is fascinating. I look forward to learning more about BIAB from the site.

Thanks,
John

Hi everyone,

I've been brewing simple beer in a can kits for a while now, and really want to get into all-grain brewing. I found the site by following a link from another site whilst searching for "simple" and "all grain" and other terms like that.

Really looking forward to getting into biab, it seems like it will be perfect for me, getting the best of all-grain in a straight forward process (plus it keeps the wife happy as I don't have to misappropriate the cooler that we have ;) ).

I'm actually a Brit having moved to Canada 18 months (ish) ago to be wife my wife, and the only thing I complain about here is the price of beer, hence home brewing is the way to go.

I'm HVAC control electrician by trade, but due to "issues" with BC I'm currently working as a freelance programmer / linux admin.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everybody and I'll stop waffling on now!!
