Hello, Dave from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Yes, people in Utah actually do drink beer.
I stumbled upon the site when looking for methods to do BIAB. I have been brewing for ~26 years but only make a few batches a year. Given I am the only one in the house that drinks beer, a 5 gal (19 l) batch lasts a really long time. I've started making all grain (3 vessel) batches in 2.5 gal (10 l) batches and thought BIAB might make small batch brewing even easier. At this point in my brewing life, I am looking for easier, less time consuming methods to making good beer. However, IMHO automation of the brewing process would make it as about exciting as going to a store to buy the stuff.
So far it appears BIABrewer has a lot of info for BIAB, as one would expect. There does not appear to be much traffic on the system.
Like many, I started with extract brewing, then extract with a partial mash (or just favoring with barley tea), and then all grain. I still do all methods, depending on what's up.
I am an older university professor with a couple of good years left in him prior to retirement.
