Welcome Tom. Like many things on the site atm, it can be a little hard to find.

It's actually stickied in this forum but under the following name... BIABacus Pre-Release - Your First Impressions.

The first time you open it you'll get scared as everything is on one page. Relax and have a beer and you'll see if you work from A to Z that there is an easy, gentle logical sequence to it all. In reality, there is also very little you need to learn.

Hopefully it goes without saying that you can always get help here with it.

Welcome jorgeft. You say that like its a bad thing, but once you try it I think you may change your mind. Also, BIAB is all-grain, not sure what you are doing now but BIAB is every bit as 'all-grain' as any other multiple vessel way to brew, we just do it all the same vessel. :) Take a look around and ask questions if you can't find something, lots of friendly BIABers around (and 3 vessel converts too) Happy brewing!

Hello folks I'm a Canadian novice biab brewer that lives at the very bottom tip of lake huron in the province of Ontario. Really impressed with the site, I tried my first biab batch today that didn`t include sparging. Did this with confidence from info on this site. I'M having a problem with a coarse bitterness not related to hops.This site convinced me to forget sparging for now and also to stick here for my info and not to use a bastardized method of brewing.

We all think BIAB is the best and easiest way to make great beer! Let us know what questions you have, moving forward, and will try to help point you in the right direction.

Hi. First post to this forum. I am from Ayrshire Scotland and have just started brewing again after a lay off of eighteen years. Now retired so have the time to brew again. Used to brew 'conventionally' using a mash tun etc and have pretty much always all grain brewed. On restarting I have read a lot about equipment and methodology but am particularly interested in Biab and have tried four brews now with great success. I have limited space to brew and so Biab seems to work well for me. Hope to learn lots from this forum as I have found it difficult to get information from other sites which can be disparaging of the Biab method. Already have a ton of reading to do on the site so not sure I will have much to offer in return in the short term at least :dunno:

BIAB is the best way to Brew, and has Many Options to make beer Simple to Brew.

Hello, everybody.
I'm a all grain brewer from the US (Maryland). I have only done the typical "mash in a cooler, sparge to your kettle" method.
I'm a father of two, and my brewing time is really limited, so I'm really looking forward to maybe saving some brew day time with BIAB.
Looking forward to learning a lot.

Hello all, a geologist and budding brewer from Salmon, Idaho here. I came upon this site after perusing the web and listening to the BeerSmith BIAB podcast. I've been brewing for a year and have done 4 mini-BIAB batches with varying success. Looking forward to better beer with all your help!

Hi all, I'm a novice brewer from the UK with a couple of extract / partial mash brews under my belt. I was directed to this site by a fellow (welding) forum member that I knew brewed his own beer, after I'd asked advice about steeping some grain for a recipe I wanted to try (rye for a Roggenbier).
I have the basic equipment at home for all grain, although it's gathering cobwebs at the minute; but the intention is to have a go fairly soon.
My interest in the BIAB process is really because I also spend time in the Philippines and I just have time to get a brew on between my arrival and the day I leave, the equipment is simple - I've cobbled together a gas fired rig with a big aluminium kettle and a water dispenser for my fermentation vessel. I attempted my first BIAB during my last trip (November), an IPA, bottled it prior to leaving and hopefully if it hasn't exploded in the meantime, will be ready to sample in January on my return.
The surprising thing is that there is a good range of malted grains and hops over there and a rising interest in home brewing and craft beer. So I'll be scanning the Asia section for fellow brewers as well as the UK ones.
There's lots of information on the site and a lot of expertise, so once I'm up and running I hope to get some advice related to water profiles and temperature control; I think that's where my challenges will lie. Maybe my experiences will help others to not make the same mistakes as me!

Hello everyone.
I'm from England and I've been brewing kits for about 5 years now.
I've been amazed at the quality of the brews that I've produced.
I've wanted to go A.G. but was put off by all the equipment needed etc.
Saw this method and decided it was for me.
I've not started yet, but I won't be long.
I just need to wait for my bag to arrive and need to learn a little more.

There's a lot of great information to be found here. Get yourself a copy of the biabacus and post a recipe before you get started and we'll point you in the right direction.

Looking to expand my brewing knowledge and make the step from extract to all grain brewing. I've been brewing small batch 1 gallon batches and would like to gradually increase to 3-5 gallons. I'm glad to have found this community and resource to help me with my efforts.

I'm new to brewing. From around Toronto. I am interested mostly in 1 gallon recipes and am about to brew my first batch. Can't really say I'm doing this because it is cheap...but beer is quite pricey these days around here.

BIABACUS is a Spreadsheet, that will help you figure any size Batch from Any recipe you enter, and Make the best beer.

Hi eh. :peace:

Ya so I'm a Canadian from Soo, Ontario. I first learned of BIAB and of this site from goulaigan who happens to be a buddy from work. He's quickly building a reputation as a top notch brewer and will enhance that reputation when he brings me a sampler pack next week :thumbs:
So anyway I can't believe that I haven't heard of this until now because I was born for this kinda stuff. I feel like I've just been given keys to a space ship sitting in my driveway.
I have brewed beer in the distant past but at a local U-brew so it hardly counts but I do understand the process. I currently make my own wine so I also understand home brewing essentials and I'm tempted to dump out my current batch of wine so I can jump right into my first batch of beer. (just kidding, I could never dump out anything)
I'm looking forward to learning and contributing to the forum.
