I was getting tired of mashing and sparging with my mash tun so I used it elsewhere in the homestead I was so close to just shutting down the whole hobby maybe take up stamp collecting or something until an associate told me about BIAB all of the associated measurement equipment were the same and it is a much simpler process and could save me some time this time savings is absolutely key in my continuation with this hobby so I though what the hell lets give it a try so this is my very first foray into the world of BIAB and I am as excited as when I started brewing several years ago.

Hi All, I'm from Hungary. I more or less experienced brewer. I used a BIAB setup with 2000W Portable induction cooktop with a a 19l pot. Now I upgraded to 50l pot and a 3,5kW induction burner. I just stumbled upon this forum when I searched for a bigger BIAB bag. I already collected a lot of useful information so far.

Hello, everyone.

I've been brewing regular all-grain for a while - at my parents house, in another state.
I guess BIAB is the solution i've been looking to start brewing in my small apartment at Rio de Janeiro.

And this site seems as the most complete source on the subject, so here we are...

Cheers

Welcome aboard Andre, indeed BIAB is great for smaller spaces, but you may just find its great in general and very capable of making beer just as good as a multi vessel system, but with less equipment and less cleaning...

Welcome GreenMtn,

If You can Download "BIABACUS" at http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1869 and enter your Kettle Measurements, a Specific Gravity, the Volume you can put into your Fermenter, then Enter the Percentage of the grains you like.

You will see the Total water needed (TWN) to brew that Batch, and you can adjust the spreadsheet to see the Maximum volume that your Kettle can Carry.

When you get some Questions, we will help you Fully Understand all the Options to Brew the greatest Beer you can!!

Greetings from beautiful Seattle WA, USA!

I am a fairly new brewer, 5 brews but have helped with many more, all of them all grain and BIAB. I heard about this site from a BasicBrewing.com podcast (BIAB Legacy), I thought that out of the 40 or so podcasts I have listened to that one was one of the most engaging and informative (on BIAB) I have heard! Good Job! I am anxious to see all of the information on this site and (hopefully) improve my brewing!

Cheers!
Dave

I've been a lurker for a while here, currently AG and just moved up to a 40l urn. I've got my head around some of the biabicus but looking forward to protecting (edit: protecting) the spreadsheet.

Currently living in Sydney and a part of the ESB and ISB brewers

Hello from the great state of Wisconsin. I have been brewing for 10 years now, with a few breaks to have kids and move. Only did one extract batch, then a partial mash before my third brew was a batch sparge all-grain in a cooler.

That giant coleman extreme lasted for many, many batches, but I've been having a hard time keeping a seal at the manifold. The plastic has started to malform and the O-rings cant keep it sealed. Plus there was gunk seeping into the insulation. It was time for a change.

So I started brewing in a bag using a bag inside a giant perforated turkey basket and a rigged up pulley. 4 batches in and I'm loving it, will probably never go back.

I only have a 8 gallon kettle, so I can't do anything higher gravity, but my brewing interests have turned to Saison styles in the past few years anyway. So a 1.055 wort fermented down to 1.003 and some added brett will make a plenty strong beer.

Heard about this site on Basic Brewing Radio, which I have been listening to from the very beginning. (I've even been to Arkansas and popped in the shop in Fayetteville.)

Hey all, I'm a fairly new brewer still working with extract. I'd like to go all grain after my next few brews (I've got all the ingredients for them) and a member of my brew club mentioned this site.
