MargateNoob, It is always up to you to select what will work best in your space and heat supply situation. Picture yourself in action performing the various steps. Take a look at the thread at http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=152&t=2902 for a pretty good walk-through of JerryCraft's brewing method, even if you don't have a swimming pool for recirculating chiller supply water. Look around here for slow chill (in the kettle) or no-chill (in another piece of equipment called a cube) for other alternatives. You can brew great beer with that kit. Consider a kettle one size larger, too. SWMBO kicked my brew day outdoors for the aromas and I went to a 40 L kettle before long. Others here may advise differently. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Margate :salute:,

I think it's important to get your first BIAB set-up right and one of the first keys is understanding that BIAB, as intended by the pioneers, is a full-volume, single vessel, mashing/sparging method. The 'starter' kit yu linked in your original post, to me, is not really pure BIAB as the kettle being sold is way too small to fill the fermentor being sold in the kit. This tells me that they will be expecting you to heat sparge water in a second vessel and muck around rinsing your grain bag etc with hot water possibly in a third vessel. Basically, that defeats the whole purpose and the beauty of BIAB (proper BIAB).

I think the best course for you is to let us know what you want to achieve (how much beer you would like to package from a batch on average), how often you'd like to brew, where you live (so we know climate and local home brew shops), whether you might want to brew small batches inside using a stove-top, medium size batches using an electric urn or a stockpot and a gas burner or medium to very large batches.

It's not hard to get something that suits you and will serve you well. I don't think the link in the first post will serve you well.

:peace:
