Hello everyone. I'm quite impressed with the site you have here. So much knowledge and info. I have been interested for many years in brewing at home but I have done very little actual brewing due to life getting in the way. That is going to change shortly. I have assembled almost all of the necessary equipment and I can't wait to get started.

Hi all. New here so thought I'd post and answer the newbie questions!

1. I'm from West Yorkshire in the UK.
2. I ended up here after clinking through hundreds of links while researching all grain brewing options.
3. Enjoying all the information so far although it is a little overwhelming!
4. I've never brewed before but want to go straight to grain rather than doing kits.

I'm off again now to check exactly what equipment I need and hopefully start brewing next week.

HI everyone,
My name is Bryan, Im from southeast Michigan. I came across the site from mention on homebrewtalk.com, So far I have 13 brews under my belt since march of last year. of those 13 about 5 of them have been BIAB. 2 of them were partial mash partial boil and 3 were all grain (2 turned out great my last brew not so much, still fermenting, either way it will be tasty beer..hopefully). Currently im brewing with a 5 gal SS pot using paint strainer bags from the hardware store. But I have a 15 gal 2 weld kettle on its was (whenever it clears customs) hopefully in the near future I wll be able to brew some low OG 10 gallon batches for the new kegerator. So far looking at the site I can tell this will definatly take days of reading to sort through all the info, and will make my addiction that much worse.
Outside of brewing and working for Delta Air Lines as a operations/tower agent my other hobbies include bowling and riding my motorcycle (03 SV1000s) when mother nature decides to take it easy on michigan for once.

Hello all. New to brewing having just completed my second kit. I'm looking at getting more control and flavour and BIAB looks like my next step!

I've just seen there's a space needle clone in the recipe forum. I've just been to Seattle for a holiday, great place and great beer! The pike brewery was fantastic.. I think that recipe post is the kick I need to get some BIAB gear together!

I'm from Newcastle, England.

Hi folks,

I'm a Brit in my late twenties. Brewed plenty of kits in my undergraduate days and recently started brewing again but all-grain this time! BIAB was the obvious way to go. I'm only a few brews in but already enjoying success :-)

Currently living in Oxfordshire, UK.

Hi everyone. I live in a little town in west central Illinois. I have been a kit brewer on and off for the last 6 years. I just started BIAB this week. Loved the process but I still have a lot to learn. My boil off and efficiency need some work. Looking forward to learning from the pros.

Hi Promauto and welcome to the forum.

As a former kit brewer you already have the fermentation side of things covered, now you have access to the resources to take your brewing to the next level.

Keep us informed of your progress and feel free to ask if you can't find the answers you may need in the future. We're all pursuing the same goal, great beer!

Regards from Spain! BIAB for a year and founded this forum a few days of my last brew...

With two small kids at home I don't have too many choices for brewing (not too much time actually...)

Great to have this forum to learn from the BIAB master's!!

javierpm78,

Welcome to the forum. BIAB is perfect when you have little time and little children. Time goes fast when you have kids at home. Time enough to grab a beer and enjoy the children as they grow.

Hi BIABers,

I'm new here and wanted to say a quick "Hello".

I'm a fairly new brewer (only 3 batches) but I'm totally hooked. I've been doing partial-mashes but am looking to start my all-grain journey with my first BIAB (right after I make my own bag) very soon.

I'm brewing from Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Cheers! :peace:

Hi everyone, I'm a pretty new brewer, just done one Maxi BIAB so far, waiting to see how it turns out but keen to do many more! Before that I have done K&B batches and like many of you am also on AHB

good to see more canadians! Until the earthquake comes I'm pretty jealous of your location. Maybe we can trade hops for malt? I'm in Alberta practically underneath a malt tower.

Bowenbrewer,pat86,Jasontb,

Welcome all. As you can see BIAB is easy on the pocket book, fast, requires little storage space and produces great beer. What's not to love above it?

Hello Everyone,

I'm just going to run through the list of starter questions so I hopefully hit everything.

1. Where are you from?
Ann Arbor Michigan!

2. How did you stumble across the site?
I migrated over from the homebrewtalk forum. I did my first extract batch about 2 weeks ago and it's quickly becoming clear that I want to move to grain brewing ASAP. I also want to move into doing smaller batches so I can brew more often and have more opportunities to experiment and learn. I'm hoping if I brew a lot of small batches I can get on my feet quicker and save my 5 gallon setup for recipes I've already tested, tasted, and decided I like. That way I spend less time trying to drink 5 gallons of mediocre beer.

3. What you think of it so far?
I'm super happy I found it! Homebrewtalk is great but I think this community is more focused on what I'm hoping to accomplish as a beginning brewer.

4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
Just the one extract batch and that hasn't even made it into bottles yet.

5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?[/b]
I do work; I'm a coder an an analyst by day. (Then at night I'm Batman, but keep that on the DL)

I've been into brewing for roughly 3 years now and am finally taking the plunge into all-grain using BIAB (sad I didn't find out about earlier!). Really happy I stumbled upon this site and cannot wait to brew my first BIAB brew this weekend (Berliner Weisse).

Look forward to becoming an active member of these boards! Cheers!

Hi All,

New to the site here. Based in Sydney originally from Ireland. Have done kit and extract recipes for a few years and have now progressed to biab. I am using a birko 40L urn and so far have 2 brews done. Love it as a hobby and looking forward to learning a lot more here.
Thanks in advance,

Dave

Hi all

Based in Melbourne and am trying to amass a wealth of knowledge before embarking on my first brew. I have been collecting kit for some months now ready to go and will be going straight to BIAB in a keggle with a gas burner. I got my cubes for no chill, my FV, fridge with an STC-1000 to control the temp and a heap of bottles for when it all comes good.

I have a couple of queries left that I would like to get advice on from the wealth of experience on this forum and look forward to being able to pick the brains of the gurus.

Cheers
Jollster

Welcome to the international headquarters for "Brew In A Bag" brewing. Note that it's "Brew" in a bag Not, "Brewer" in a bag. So stay sober while your brewing!
