First high volume BIAB

Post #1 made 12 years ago
My friends,

I've been absent from the forum, but I haven't stopped brewing! Using the BIABacus, I've already made IPA's and an Oatmeal Stout.

However, I've decided to upgrade my equipments and I am about to produce my very first batch on a brand new, 33 gallons kettle. I've ordered and received a custom made bag from BIABrewing.com (great service!) and I am just about finished installing the ropes and supports in order to lift the bag.

For my first big batch, I've decided to make a recipe based on the great Dogfish Head 60 Minutes IPA.

I have attached the BIABacus to this, so please comment on any adjustments you deem necessary!

I know that the hop schedule is different from the original, but I can only find so many hop varieties in Brazil.

Thank you so much for your help!!

Here's the recipe:

jdeiro - I have not had a chance to look at the file but that is a big kettle! 125 litres?
Should be fun to use & keep you in beer for some time!

Yes, that`s the objective! I`ve actually called up my father in law to take part of the process and the primary goal is to never have to buy commercial beer on any our houses. Considering we are heavy drinkers, that will be a challenge!

Nice to hear from you jdeiro ;)

That is big! Good on you :). Your file looks fine to me though I wouldn't be able to give you any comments on the actual recipe as I'm not familiar with the beer.

Maybe copy the Recipe Report to your first post so lazy buggers can check your recipe without downloading the file :P.

:luck:
