Hi All.

Nothing but best intentions here.

1. Where are you from?

Melbourne Outer NE area.

2. How did you stumble across the site?

Linked off the AHB forum

3. What you think of it so far?

Has promise, but the joining hoops were a bit much

4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?

Been brewing for about 3 years now.
K+K for about 3 batches
Extracts for 15 odd batches over next 12 months
Minimashing until recently.
First AG in a bag early August this year.

5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?

Work ? More like slave labour really.

I'm guessing the reason I cant see any attached files (or pics) is because I haven't posted here yet.... Been a while since I registered and looks like the site has been taking off since then. I've done about 5 BIAB brews in my 26 Gallon Mega Pot for usually 11-12 Gallons of Boiled wort. So far I've done 25lbs crushed (ok floured) grain in my Bag. I am Crushing the grain with a Monster 3-d Mill From Crankenstein on the Highest (finest crush) settings for about a 75% efficiency rating.... Oh and I live inside The US

Cheers!

G'day guys,

I'm a kit brewer from way back, although I've had a hiatus for the past four years - two of which I've been O/S and have only just returned to the country. I'm currently staying with mates in Preston and am in the market for a place of my own. Once I get said place, look out!

My first brewing project, once I get set up, will be a mead but once that's out of the way it'll be straight into BIAB. I've been attracted to AG for a long while but it all just seemed too hard. With BIAB I've run out of excuses.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to many a discussion with you all.

Regards
Brad

hi there,

i'm from Johannesburg, South Africa. Looking to get into All-grain the BIAB way. Currently getting all the equipment together. Found this site while researching the topic (on AHB). Fell in love with home/micro brew in CO, USA.

cheers!

Hi,
I'm Chris from Sydney. I found this forum via AHB, and love the fact that everything is (pretty much) to the point. I've brewed fresh wort kits on and off over the past few years, and my Dad brewed kits a long time ago.
I've been experimenting with AG since the start of this year. I work in retail liquor, but still prefer to drink my own!

Hello Everyone,
I'm in Pennsylvania, USA and have been brewing for a little over a year. I've done one BIAB without any real guidance and it turned out to be the best beer I've made yet. It was a slightly spicy Belgian Blonde with a good share of wheat. I'm looking to learn more about the BIAB technique and this seemed like the logical source of information.

-Best Regards,
Bryan

Hi Everyone,

1. Where are you from?
I'm from Geraldton WA
2. How did you stumble across the site?
Was looking for information on electric biab on AHB and found this sight.
3. What you think of it so far?
Its my fourth vissit now and i can see some good information, finally delved in enough to find out how to become registered!
4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
I have perfected my kit and partial brews but they are just missing that all-grain-ness. i'm currently completing an electric biab project that should be able to handle double batches. Will be getting into all grain when i move back to the big smoke soon where i can get ingredients more easily.
5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
I'm a graduate civil engineer

Cheers,

Leon

G'day all,

Lemon from Newcastle here.

Been brewing K & B for a while now and the apparent simplicity of BIAB, spotted on AHB, inspiried me to try.

Did my first BIAB yesterday and can't wait to find out how its gone.

Good day folks, I live in Brighton in the South of England. I've done 8 extract brews which were pretty successful but I feel that now is the time to cross over to the dark-side of all-grain brewing. The biab method looks ideal and I can't wait to get started.
Cheers,
Tom.

Hi all,
I'm a traditional AG brewer from Colorado, USA interested in trying the BIAB technique. Sounds like fun and easy to make smaller batches indoors in the winter. Thank you in advance for all your advice.

Hello All,

David here from Preston, Melbourne.
Started off with Kit and Kilo. Found NickJD's stovetop BIAB thread on AHB, gave it a whirl and never looked back.
Would have never got into all grain without that voile bag.
Currently experimenting with no chill, Found they turn out a bit more bitter than the recipe would indicate, so still working it out.

Cheers

Dave

G'day all! Just been having a look around here and decided to become a member. I've done a couple of BIAB brews as well as many 3 vessel type of brews. Right now, I'm just going to be doing BIAB while I think about whether or not to build myself a HERMS system.

I'm sure I'll catch up with you guys around the board!!

cheers!

G'day all,

I'm in South Melbourne and had been extract brewing and partial mashing for about 3yrs, then I asked the question of my local home brew shop - "how can I do AG brewing with limited space?" and the answer was BIAB! So I bought a used electric urn on Ebay, sewed up a Swiss Voile bag and got stuck into it... Haven't looked back since, just follow the recipes on this site and each time the beer has come up exceptional.

Keep up the good work everyone and thanks for the invaluable tips and advice to date.

Cheers!

Hi All,

I live south of Sydney in Wollongong.
Found the site looking for directions or pattern for a bag (as in BIAB).
Like the idea of being notified of new postings.
Info on site looks good but I can't see all of it yet.
Been brewing since before there were homebrew shops. Malt extract and hops (only one of each available from a Health Food Shop) - dried yeast (only one of this too), Kits - then mini mash, looking to go to Full mashes - BIAB looks like a great way in.
Still working - no choice!

Hi All!
Just east of Atlanta Georgia in the US. Happened across this site whilst Googling BIAB. This process intrigues, yet confuses me slightly(all water at once bit) but ready to give it a go.
I've done some extract and AG brews but really looking to consolidate the equipment down a bit more of a mandate from swmbo :-)

Hello fellow beer lovers. Brewhard here. I live just northwest of Indianapolis, Indiana USA. I started extract brewing in 2009 (14 batches so far) and am ready to try all-grain brewing. I heard about BIAB (and this site) from some of the local homebrewing forums. I'm thinking that BIAB will be a great way to get into AG. Thanks in advance for all the info!

Hey,

I live in Oslo, Norway. I heard about BIAB through a brew strong podcast i stumbled over today. I´ve brewed 2 coopers kits and have wanted to take the step into the all grain world. This method looks really intriguing, I´m excited to try it!!

Hey guys, I'm originally from England, now live in the US, and just bought a 55 lb bag of Maris Otter malt (my homebrew club put together a bulk purchase). I remembered reading an article about BIAB a while back and decided to do more research since my prior all grain experiences have been very time consuming. So much so that I haven't brewed in a while, life and kids keep getting in the way!

Google put me onto thebrewingnetwork.com which had a recent podcast about BIAB, the comments section of that website pointed me here, and here I am! I just want to make a decent English Bitter without it taking all day, it sounds like this can be achieved using your methods. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

I am new to brewing, I have brewed a few kits but am not realy satisfied with the results.
I have decided after reading about BIAB to pursue this line and see what happens.
I have limited equipment but I feel sure that what I have will start me off.
Look forward to being educated on BIAB. Nala
