whoops!

So, on my 3rd BIAB and have made a bit of an error!

On transferring to the FV I just slung it through a sieve to filter out the hops rather than carefully pouring to make sure I don't pour in the break materials as well. So all the break materials have been added to the FV. I've literally just realised this now, a few hours after pitching the yeast! All that hard work, so quickly spoiled!

Any advice? will the beer just be cloudy, or are there other issues with this? Am hoping it will just settle out with a crash cool at the end.

Relax, you didn't ruin anything. A lot of us just pour the whole kettle contents into the FV, hops and break material be damned. It'll all settle out as the beer ferments and will have absolutley no effect on the final prouct.

Perfect avatar/advice interface there! Thanks, that's reassuring.

I'm still new to AG brewing but decided on my 5the brew to just throw the lot into the FV as couldn't be bothered filtering all the trube and junk out. I love the approach of no nonsense brewers like Todd!:)

People definitely get too hung up on things like this. Once you do a bit of reading and get a bit of experience under your belt you realise that its really not that important. You cold chill, everything drops to the bottom of your FV and you drain off nice clear beer.

I dont use hop socks, so all they hops go straight into the pot, some gets through into the fermenter, but then i throw hop pellets straight into the fermenter as well for dry hopping.

Thanks to cold chilling it all ends up on the bottom of the FV

Is Cold Chilling the same as 'Crashing'? getting hung up on these things is What always prevented me from jumping into 3very brewing. love the simplicity of BIAB and the option to read as much into things as you want.
