There is no bad batch

Been brewing all-grain BIAB for a grand total of 4 batches. As long as I remember to pitch the yeast and prime before bottling, the results have been eminently drinkable. Better than my Mr. Beer attempts, and much better than anything made by InBev. (4.8% ABV because of taxes? Why not switch to selling "purified water"? Cheap Brazilians. Next thing they'll be selling the Clydesdales to the knackers.)

Sometimes the mash temp has wobbled wildly. Sometimes I don't get the recipe right (too few hops inthe last batch). G ot air into the hot wort by splashing it. Used a bag that was a bit small and the grain swelled until it threatened to explode. The pot is supposedly too small at 30l. Bottled right from the fermenting bucket and that worked, too. Got a bottling bucket and left the valve open when I started to fill it. Each time I learn and try to correct the problems in the next batch.

Now I only go to the bottle shop for recommended beers, see if I like the style, and look up a recipe.

Next up: a clone of Edmund Fitzgerald porter. Nomz.
I should have thought of that.

Epimetheus,

Brewing is a great hobby and it gives pleasure twice. When you brew it and when you drink it. You will make mistakes each and every time you brew. So what? Beer is a forgiving mistress. She will give you back all the love you put into it! Keep brewing and stay here with your BIAB friends. We are here to help each other!
tap 1 Raspberry wine
tap 2 Bourbon Barrel Porter
tap 3 Czech Pilsner
tap 4 Triple IPA 11% ABV

Pipeline: Mulled Cider 10% ABV
