Good Day Crabeau0, Welcome to the Forum.
Since you have done Steeping Grains, your ready to go to Mashing ALL grains. It just takes more time(60-90minutes) and a bit of skill to Hold the temperature(150F-158F) of the mash.
If you have ANY questions about BIAB, let us know and we will give many Answers!

Hello from the great White north, BC, Canada.
I've been brewing for about 5 years with extract, steeping grains & hops. Mostly 5 gal batches on my kitchen stove. Recently I made a keggle (15.5 gal, 58 L) & purchased a propane burner (250,000 btu). I've done a couple 10 gal extract batches with the new setup but now it's time to move on to BIAB. I've thought about going all grain for a while but didn't really want to go the 3 vessel route & just recently found a supplier for grains. Never even heard of Biab until about a month ago on HBT forum. I definitely want to keep doing 10 gal batches so maxi-biab will be the direction I'm going. I've setup a 2:1 pulley system in my brew room & my mother is going to sew a biab bag for me out of Voile.
Having trouble getting the maxi-biab calculator working with my mac, any help would be appreciated.
Great site! Can't wait to brew my 1st Biab.

When I down load the calculator it opens in computer language I guess, maybe it's not compatible with mac.
I live in south east BC,Fernie, about a 1/2 hour from both the Alberta & Montana borders. Just ordered a bunch of supplies from Craftbrewers in Calgary as I dive through there at least once per month.
Been enjoying some great skiing the last couple of days.

Still a cool little alpine town but doubles in size in the winter, lots of Aussies & Kiwi's. There's a good chance I know your friend that works at Elko since I've lived in Fernie for almost 50 years now. Hi all.
New to BIAB and looking at buying a 40L urn as a system. I live near Sydney, Australia. Ill be looking at buying an exposed element, 40 litre, Birko urn. I've been brewing for about 12 months. At this stage I brew with extract and specialty malts, with good success to date. I'm keen to move to AG and BIAB looks the most cost effective way of doing this without compromising to much on traditional AG techs and keeping things simple.
I stumbled on this site from a different Aussie Home Brew forum (not sure if I can post it on here). I'm glad I found it, looks to have all the info I need to get started.
Looking forward to lurking around the place.

Hi!
I'm Nicolai, a student and soon to be brewer from Norway, currently residing in Bologna, Italy. I'm just going to skip hopped extract kits and extract brewing and just jump into all grain BIAB. Have a 19 l pot and aiming for doing 10 liter batches and some 20 liter maxi-biab batches if the recipes are good!
Aiming to start brewing in the end of december or beginning of january, I've been thinking about brewing for some weeks now, and instead of reading for my exams, I read brewing literature, forums and watch a lot of brewing videos on YouTube. So when I get back from Italy I'll start brewing.
I've already started planning to build a magnet stirrer for my yeast starters (I'll go with dry yeast in the beginning, but soon move over to liquid yeast), and my general set up. I'll post my setup, my home made stirrer when it's done and my progress as a brewer to the forum, hopefully in the beginning of January

Welcome aboard BrewMitta
.
There's no problems at all mentioning other forums. One of the best things about brewing is meeting local brewers and your home country's brewing forums can often be the best gateway to this. I've met heaps of excellent brewers from Sydney, my hometown, through that gateway.
And, don't be worried about compromising on quality. One of the guys from your home state, Crusty, now BIAB's. Even though he built a $4,000 system, he now just BIAB's (in an urn) because he thinks the beers are of better quality. So there you go. Myself and a few others also started out with traditional brewing and now soley BIAB. Over-processing doesn't always mean better. Just think of food!
Hope you enjoy the forum. The members here are excellent value and you'll always get considered answers to your questions.
I get to Sydney often so maybe we'll have a beer one day?

And welcome aboard to you too Nicolai
,
That's a very gallant effort diving straight into all-grain - good on you! Don't hesitate to let us help you though. I'm sure everyone here will want to see your first brew being a success so feel free to ask any questions or post up a plan and ask the brewers here to check it.
There's heaps of great dry yeasts out there so don't forget them! Twenty years ago a dried yeast was garbage. Basically now, pretty much any yeast that is dried is of equivalent quality to the liquid. There's just not as much variety though
.
Don't forget to study for your real exams Nicolai!!!!

I'm glad I found a resource like BIABrewer.info!
After a 25 year hiatus, I'm excited to return to brewing. My plan is to go straight to all-grain brewing, but minimize my expenses as much as reasonably possible (yes, I'm a cheap SOB), while making great beers. This led me to the concept of BIAB.
I'm seeking to do 10-gallon batches, which seems to be less common than those trying 5- or 3-gallon batches. To complicate matters further, I will want to do 5-gallon batches at times, but use the same equipment.
Regardless, being from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, I'm going to have to be brewing some mighty fine beers in the not-too-distant future or my local brew club will probably kick me to the curb!

Good Day Dog.Gone, Welcome to the Forum.
To do Full Volume Mash(10gallon), you can use a kettle/stockpot with twice the volume(20 gallon), But, it may be too large for 5 gallon.
You can use a 12-15 gallon pot with MAXI-BIAB http://www.biabrewer.info/viewforum.php?f=89 and still do a Full Volume 5 gallon Batch!!!
Also, look around the sight for the many "3V or BIAB? stories to help with your transition.

Hello fellow brewers. I have been brewing extract batches for about 2 years now (somewhere around 20 batches total) and recently built my kegging setup and purchased a 15gal kettle. Made a large voile bag last week and will be buying grains for my 1st BIAB Weizenbock soon.

Hello. First post. I'm in the suburbs of Atlanta, Ga, USA. I stumbled across this site after discussing with a buddy my failure at an attempt to complete my first all grain brew in a 3 vessel set up. Stuck sparge, big mess, total loss.
Anyway, a buddy of mine mentioned BIAB and an internet search led me here. BIAB appears to be what I am looking for- a way to brew all grain in a simple, efficient manor. I work full time and have 9 year old twins- so my brewing time is limited. I have been brewing off and on for a few years, starting with all extract brews then moving to partial mash brews.
Anyway, I'm doing a lot of reading and plan to make an attempt at BIAB sometime between Christmas and New Year's. I bought an all grain kit and was initially going to make another attempt at the 3 vessel method, but now think I will see if I can make it work BIAB.
I'm looking forward to getting started.
