Getting the gear ready for first brew

Post #1 made 14 years ago
Just got my 19l pot and found a stainless stand at work will which support my paella ring until I upgrade to a more powerful burner (and larger pot!)

On a 17l water only test run it took 60 minutes to reach boiling point and easily held a rolling boil.

As I live in a wet part of the UK with no water shortages, I will build a hosepipe fed copper coil chiller but will use my dog bath in the meantime.

the 17l of water cooled from 80c to 20c in 60 minutes

Just need to sew up my grain bag and get a wire cooling rack for the bottom of the pot and I will be ready to brew
