Let us know how that works out Bob. I just did the same thing (6 gallon winpac for both NC and then fermenter) and it blew krausen all over the inside of my fermenting fridge! I have a regular cube that I use for 90% of the time. I bought a expensive one when I started but I bought two of these with extra caps for less than the cube!
I have used (for the first time) The Winpac for a no chill AND fermented in the same container! It's still in the (no/chill - primary) wish me luck??
I suppose I could get extra caps for the winpacs and rig a custom blow-off setup but quite honestly I'm a voyeur so I really enjoy watching the yeasties do their magic in my Better Bottles.
Do what works for you! I use fermcap and love it! It is almost always in my boil to eliminate my constant boilovers. I forget to turn it down! I use a little in my fermenting buckets. Not one blow off since starting with it. Fermcap drops out of suspension with the trub so I don't worry about it. Its looks like Elmer's glue or maybe sap from a rubber tree! Anyway it doesn't seem to effect me except for the impotence and memory problems! I think?and I am leery about using fermcap or any other chemicals.
