I was in Stavanger once and all i can remember is the beer was soooo expensive. Biabing will save you a fortune..

Thank you. You're spot on. The alcohol prices is what Norway is best known for it seems. A pint of quality brew in bars is easy $18-20, and in shops $8-12, the regular industrial lagers is not so expensive, in shops that is.

I'll have to build a fermentation chamber for lagers as the temperatures in the winter is fairly unpredictable.

Thank you, I hope so too.

It will be a great test of patience, looking forward to getting into cloning. I love APA's and IPA's. Recently enjoyed some Scotch Ales and want to have a dab. If I can make a simple pilsner I think the mrs will be happy too!
I'll try to let you know how it goes

Howdy all,
Relatively new to brewing, have run a few extract batches. Want to try all-grain, don't have the $$ to buy a zillion-dollar setup. Stumbled across this site mentioned on another brewing forum, hope to learn the BIAB method!

Good Day daddy_0, Welcome to our site! Since you have done a extract batch a few times, To do a BIAB batch, you will need a kettle/stockpot about twice the batch size you want to make BIAB, Or Check out MAXI-BIAB and you can make a 5 gallon batch with a 32 quart kettle with ease. Of Course a good recipe, A good size bag and enough grains to match, You'll be ready to go. Let us know if you have any questions and one of our very experience brewers will Help. Good Luck!

Hi all I'm from Perth Western Australia,

I've been doing extract for a few years but I've recently decided to make the switch to all grain. I'm just getting my gear together at the moment and while researching AG setups on the net I stumbled on people talking about BIAB it sounds like a good thing and now I'd like to know more so here I am :)

Hello. I stumbled across this site after listening to a Brew Strong podcast about Brew In a Bag. I have been brewing extract based partial mash brews for about a year. I tried Brew in a Bag once after listening to another podcast, but didn't get the efficiency I wanted. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can about this technique. I teach full time and brew beer about twice a month. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum jud :salute:

Maybe have a read of this post to see if anything there rings a few bells on efficiency. If not, ask any questions you like and you'll get no shortage of help.

:peace:

I'm from the UK and just started brewing all grain after being disappointed with kits - ready to do my 5th grain batch as soon as my 40l boiler arrives. Tried brewing using both brew in bag and traditional mash tun (homemade!) methods with a 19l stock pot - brew in a bag makes life so much easier, literally knocks hours off the brewing time! Cheers

Hi All,
Dale from Northern California. My son started me out two years ago with a starter kit, we went from Extract to four All Grain batches. Saw a You Tube video on BIAB, did a partial mash a week ago and found this method way easier and more enjoyable!
Anxious to learn as much as I can and do my first full BIAB brew next week.
